I'm literally on the brink of tears

... I still can't believe CA really did it. They ARE going to realize my long-time dream and do the:

ENTIRE. WARHAMMER. WORLD.

Not stopping at Mountains of Mourn. Not stopping at Chaos Wastes. Not excluding minor factions. Not ignoring fluff footnotes because "GW didn't do them". It's literally all the wet dreams coming into their Slaaneshi fruition... No strings attached.

Yes, I've been expecting Kislev so it didn't really surprise me at all, even the top-notch models and hussars, I know CA can deliver.
BUT that expanded map = Cathay tease at the end caught me totally unawares. I've never really believed they are going to include them as a core. Hoped, yes, but mostly for a race-pack way into the lifecycle of game 3. Monogods are also pleasant surprise for aesthetic reasons, although I would prefer them separated into DoC and WoC.

I just do not know if I should love it or hate it...

Why now CA, why?

It's exactly the time when I finally got bored with TWW2 - I didn't even play last DLC. I'm on the cusp of starting my own family, working much longer than I dare to admit... I have no time for this! NO TIME!

Yet they did it, they woke the daemon inside me again... and IT STIRS.

Lets hope... Still no confirmation for Nippon, Kuresh, or Ind.

Probably going to leave Araby untouched and Antartica too.

The whole question is now for GW. They crossed the threshold with Katai, which means they can give both Nipon and Indus. If they want to, but whether they want to, that's another question. It is a pity that Arabia is dead and her last chance is gone.

Nippon, Ind, and Hinterlands aren't confirmed. Maybe for Warhammer 4 lol

We don't know that. The future big map can still receive the mortal empires treatment, with truncated regions.
I hope too, but we won't be sure until we actually see the map, in like a year from now.

It’s GW who are designing Cathay not CA. Is GW working on Cathay, because of the huge success of Total War Warhammer? Most definitely, but thank god it is GW not CA who decide what Cathay will look like.

    The final rose has faded,
    The eaves will sing no more;
The waxen ground will keep you bound,
    Death-pale until the thaw.
Then she placed the rest of Orion's ashes into the bowl and turned to face the Oak of Ages.
I used to go by many names here. Crazycrix, Dubinekdubajs, Yrellian and finally Ariel, one of my favourite characters in the setting. Still waiting for Finubar and Naieth!

At this point, with Cathay as a core and all their promises and assurances that they "know what players want [after ME's design choices]" they would really have to be extra stingy to cut continents in half again.

Nah, it's happening. Perhaps with shrunk Khuresh and Ind [a'la Estalia], but it is coming. And I still can't truly believe it.

Well the theory that GW has secret army books for minor factions locked up in a vault somewhere sure sounds a bit more credible now.

Who knows what GW thought about and put in paper but didn't follow through because it wouldn't sell in a tabletop game?

    You should conquer your daemons.

    Or control them. Either one.

Never go further with the hype than what is confirmed. If TWW2 taught me anything it is to keep expectations in check. Cathay is coming as is, in some way either expanded Wastes or parts of the Realm of Chaos. No need to automatically assume much more than that.

Soon Shogun 2 bro's soon we will be drowning enemies in rockets and holding the line with chad Yari ashigaru once again as Nippon. Only a matter of time until it comes up as a race so now to meditate on all my fond Shogun 2 memories and Nippon ones to come.

Seriously, though, I know how you feel.

I haven't really been getting bored with TWW2 - I've been pacing myself out and still have a lot I want to do with the Vortex, in fact - but there certainly has been a strong degree of disappointment towards policies demonstrated in the later DLCs. To the point where, when it was looking like TWW3 was going to be monogods and nothing else for core, I was getting ready to not bother with TWW3, at least not until it had some steep discounts.

Going into the Far East and possibly going for the entire Warhammer globe, though? That's something worth investing in.

Halflings and Fishmen will be there someday or so I hope. Those are some very wild predictions though but I still hope for them.

I'm still wondering if CAs understand the importance of their work. Do they realize that they are doing not just "Another computer toy for a few hours" but continue a whole subculture that almost died due to the efforts of GW.

I totally agree about the hype bit, but I didn't even expect the stuff that we've already gotten on the table right in front of us. If Cathay is core, then it will presumably end up with 5-7ish LLs (based on what we currently have with core races) - you need space to put them all on the map, and the East will provide for it.

Secondly, Cathay as an only nation in the East will make it a snoozefest to play - there will be more stuff in that part of the map, I'm sure of it.

Last but not least, the inclusion of Cathay means we are going to have a map that at the bare minimum stretches from Western Naggaroth to the Eastern Coast of the Old World. That's already at least 90% of the entire Warhammer world. Even if in the end they don't churn out Nippon and/or Khuresh, that's already way more than I expected before the announcement.

We, Warhammer fans, win. My work and my family though...

Go to warhammer community and watch the second video about them creating Kislev and Cathay in it the guy makes it clear he worked on multiple new races he can't wait for us to see lol but then doesn't mention them. It's not a hard confirm but its good evidence we will (after existing gw dlc races get in) get at minimum 2 new races we know nothing about and the guy looked so happy like he wanted to tell us about them all lol. I guarantee you there will be 3 and at least one of them will be Nippon as Japanese culture is super popular over here they also made shogun 2.

I'm going to be the bold one and say we will get all far east races as full campaign packs lol. All 5 lol.

    Well, I hope so too.

The best historical TW certainly deserves a fantasy homage to it.
