Oh I would love to see ind. Much more then cathay infact. There are so msny things you could do with this faction. What I would like to see is an Ind that would play kinda like the empire but with beastmen creatures instead of many gunpowder units.
So what I would like to see are basic human troops, who not only can be based on ancient or medival indian soldiers but also could take up a few flavours from other southeastern people. These more or less basic infantry could then be supported by a wide variety of bestial units. Next to the creatures the OP talked about I would also like to see mahouts with normal elephants (maybe with cannons on their backs), Tigermen, apemen (Ape not monkey. I would like to see Orang-utan or Gigantopiticus- like creatures for this) and many more.
Additionally india provides a unique faction design and intrueging gameplay possibilites. From monopolizing the spices (the spice must flow) to having potential dilemma whether you want to maintain or destroy the world so it can be reborn again. The latter fits partially indian mythology were a trio of gods is tasked with creation, maintenance and destruction. And it also fits warhammers new lore were worlds are constantly destroyed for the creation of a new mortal plain. This motiv of cycles destruction and creation can be found in various cultures and religions btw.
And for those who think cathay only came due to the chinese market: India has one of the fastes growing economies in the world with a higher population than china. It will be the video game market of the future
I think a mechanism can be implemented where Vishnu the preserver try to reduce the chaos to protect the world by sending avatars, but if chaos goes beyond a particular level Shiva the destroyer will start sending his demons to destroy the world. But using Gods directly may become controversial and cause some trouble for CA, so i think it may be better to stick with heroes and creatures.
Empire doesn’t worship Christ but Sigmar, Araby doesn’t worship Allah but Djins, Lizardmen don’t worship Huitzilopochtli but Sotek as such I wouldn’t expect Ind to focus on the common Hindu trinity of Brahman, Vishnu and Shiva but rather create its own mythology. It’s often referred to in the canon as the “land of a thousand gods” it should play up to this description and have numerous small deities and not a common deity, trinity or group that’s dominant everywhere

Yes very much agree, using the real world Gods may cause unwanted controversy, so CA will most probably invent new gods with similar characteristics. To be honest I personally only will suggest using heroes and mythical beasts and new gods that reminds everyone of avatars. Using anything resembling Shiva, Vishnu or Devi may end up in controversy. Any way CA knows that more than us, that's why I was entertaining those thoughts.
Now since Cathay is official in Warhammer 3, Ind is a natural progression. Ind is not much a developed faction in Warhammer universe, besides what ever was developed may have fallen in to some old stereotypes. So in order to give a detailed account of Indian legends myths and history that is loosely what Ind is based up on this forum is created.
A few basic ideas I want to lay out are-
1. When doing kingdoms of Ind kindly read the legends from India like Ramayana and Mahabharata. 2. We want vimanas(flying machines), ape soldiers(vaanar sena), nuke like missiles (brahmastra and other astra), mega giant chariots(search the word juggernaut and it's origin) , vyali( half lion half elephant giant mythical creature), garuda(giant eagle) , nagas (reptilians). etc.
Nagas will be with Khuresh here. The actual question is what will they add to Ind apart of the stuff we already know and how will those develop. For starters they are supposed to be, apart of having their own Beastmen who aren't malevolent non-stop like those in the Old World, master blacksmiths of such caliber that would be considered the only ones to match Dwarfs (I mean one dude gifted Finunbar with a flaming sword after the latter saved a Ind Princess, which was the guy's daughter, and the Smith-Priests of Vaul failed to crack open the enchantments on the blade because those were this complex). Not to mention their Bloodmetal has some very unique qualities. But after the info in Warhammer Fantasy RPG 4th ED on them having missile tech changes a lot. Yes. They have missile tech. And what's better is that said Missile tech also is the same the Skaven stole for their Doomrockets. Not Cathay, not Nippon which also has their own missile launchers, but Ind of all things. I still however want them to be more mythical. Like they can invoke the powers of their gods on the battlefield. Like they can invoke not!Kali and suddenly their entire army has Frenzy, Rage and The Hunger.
This entry alone is entirely why I think "The Monkey King" should be interpreted as Hanuman and not Sung Wu Kong. Cathay has enough to keep it going but if the "The Monkey King" was an Ind Character who once invaded Cathay and ruled it for a time it would make a lot of sense. Monkey warriors should also be properly Ind and not Cathayan.
I like the Idea of Ind being a blend of mostly Humans and some "enlightened" Beastmen. Tiger and Monkey men are already confirmed to be theirs by this lore snippet.
Personally, I think the best way to introduce both Ind and Kuresh would be as a combined 'Lost Kingdoms' mixed race, perhaps even lead by the long-deposed Monkey King (freeing up more Cathayan space for the other two Dragon siblings)
Would give the ability to make a decent roster with some base humans and a nice mix of monsterous units (Tigermen, Monkey Warriors, Naga)
Expecting the full Cathay treatment for both Ind and Kuresh seperatly seems a little far-fetched to me, the amount of design and development required to flesh out two decent rosters would be immense and the land mass for each race quite small - a 'Lost Kingdoms' combined army tho? That could be done properly imo.

It is not far fetched at all at this point. In immortal empire map an entire area for Ind and Khuresh is left alone separately. oh ya Ind is most probably coming after chaos dwarfs.

Original Chinese monkey king is based on Vanaras of Ramayana. Hence, I will not be too sad if they do it. However, I can see potential upset Cathay fans.

Oh they'll be ****. They always dump on me when I mention it.

That would do a monumental disservice to both Ind and Khuresh. They aren't the same. It would feel so disgusting to have an army stack thats part Ind and part Khuresh.

What would be more fun for me is if they were two difference monkey kings. You have the Wu Kong based on in Cathay, and have a Hanuman based one in Ind ruling over the six-armed monkey warriors of Ind who are a different race from the two-armed ones of Cathay. The Cathay ones can be Renegade Chaos worshipping Beastmen. Ind Vanaras inspired ones connected to Old Ones experiments.
