Warhammer Fantasy - Alternative Fanmade Work of End Times Events

Hi, guys, we are a few of warhammer fans who are currently making a fanmade story that replaces End Times to a different tale with the main point being the Old World saved from Chaos, instead of being totally annihilated like in the canon, we are searching for warhammer fantasy lovers and people who want to help the project, and overall at the end, make their own stain to the story about how to change the book. Now I know, there will be a lot of fighting, and I mean a lot , but I think together we can make come up with a story that really saves the Old World, does enough sacrifice to satisfy people and also doesn't suck overall. Now, we are also working on the name so... it can change as well. Nothing is still certain about the book yet so a lot of things will be made with help. Again, this will be public work so everyone is accepted to help who loves warhammer.

Well I wish you luck, if I can give you one piece of advice it would, make sure you advance the setting. WHF biggest problem with story telling was as a setting it always had to fall back into the same place for the game to work. No nations could get wiped out or pushed off, or characters die becuase they needed to keep selling models. Avoid falling into the same trap just becuase it's easy.

Just one thing to keep in mind: do not repeat GWs mistake. Do not focus on the Old World while either forgeting about the rest of the world or featuring as nothing but fluff. The Chaos Invasion needs to be felt across the whole world (including the Far East), not just the Old World.

I wouldn't say you have an unpopular opinion. A lot of us who play AoS played WHFB. We aren't hung up on The End Times. There is also a lot of truth to what you're saying, I've had the same opinion myself.

I’m sure it feels better to say “most” but the best you can claim is “some”. There are PLENTY of WHFB fans like myself who’ve been active in the hobby for almost two decades and who have nothing but contempt for the trash writing of the end times and the narrative drivel of AoS that they tried to wring out of the ruins of the setting.

I'm not saying the end times is flawless, it has bad points to it but also a lot of good points. The rise of the horned rat book for example is in my opinion one of the best warhammer novels out there, last book was definitely rushed but still had it's moments.

Definitely more bad than good.
