Three Kingdoms: Eight Princes Crash/Bug Report

The Sentinel ability called "Understanding" denominated by the picture of an unlocked lock crashes the game ONLY on the Eight Princes time period. So far, I have only tested this with Sima Ying and Sima Liang, and crashes on both their Sentinel generals.

A further explanation:
When right clicking the Sentinel general that are in both Sima Ying and Liang's army, you have the ability to hover over abilities and attributes for them. When hovering over the ability called "Understanding", or the ability with the picture of an unlocked lock, it immediately crashes the game, and I cannot find a crash report for it. This does not happen at any other time period for the game, even with the new DLC Fates Divided.

This crash is happening without any mods running, and a completely fresh install (All files were uninstalled, then deleted off the computer, then reinstalled).

I have not found anyone else suffering from this issue as of yet.

    You found him.

Same issue here. New campaign, no mods, 8 Princes. Game crashes without any error message. Happens every time I access the character skills and hover over the abilities. Happens for every character I tried in the Sima Yue campaign (not just sentinels, also commanders). Only seems to happen in 8 Princes.

No problems here at first glance.

You really made sure to "sanitize" the data folder by deleting anything still in it after uninstalling ?

I also have this problem, except in my case its multiple abilities on many different generals. I tried starting several 8 Princes campaigns, and it doesn't seem to matter which faction I choose, there's always at least one ability that when hovered on crashes the game. This basically makes the 8 princes campaign unplayable...

Having the same issue but with other sentinel abilities; the one that gives army evasion, and exp.
Played for hours on Fates Divided with no issues but the game will instant close when I hover over sentinel skills
in both romance and records no mods.

Did a fresh install after removing all remnants. The problem remains.

    POSSIBLE WORKAROUND

It appears this could be related to display resolution. I get the crash using 2560x1440 (my native display resolution), both windowed and fullscreen, but not at e.g. 1920x1080.

It's odd that it affects only 8 Princes, but for me this seems to be a temporary workaround.

Hope it works for you guys too!

That's it. I was playing at 2560x1600 windowed when it crashed for me. Switching to 1920 and even 3840x2160 and it's running fine now. Strange that it's just for 8 Princes

Wonderful, you've solved the problem for me as well. Hopefully this gets patched though, I enjoy playing at 2560x1440 resolution more.

Same issue here, playing in 2560x1440p. Will try the fix but I hope CA will fix this issue soon.

Wajow I have the same problem and also a resolution of 2560x1440. I thought the solution would not work, but it works great. Very strange bug and I have they will fix it.

I also ran into this issue with Sima Ai today. Glad there's a workaround, but also hoping there's a fix soon.

    POSSIBLE WORKAROUND II

I'm also playing at 2560x1440 and had the same problem ... Instead of changing the resolution, I disabled auto scaling the UI and set it to 100%.

Thanks for the find. I was able to not crash on several scale %s. It appears that auto-scaling is the culprit.
