Y no Daemon bois, though?

Well, at least it is a depiction of what Warhammer 3 areas will be for CW and RoC.

No daemons is a major let down, but hey it is free, and it actually looks really cool.

Well by the sound of it it is a free update (https://www.vermintide.com/chaoswastes), which makes it very reasonable, actually given that it seems to be 15 new levels (more than the base game) and I think a new weapon each, it seems excellent. I assume the new career will be paid alongside it.

    *checks Steam*... wait what???

Yeah, uh... I thought it was just a " there's a free update coming alongside this release" kind of statement.

    I'm surprised it's free altogether.

No new enemies, nothing. Its free, but fightining boring enemies over and over kills fun.

Yeah. Had they just added the Daemons they could've sold it for 15 bucks and no one would mind.

I'm just staggered that this is free. Makes me wonder if there's a catch.

Think it is coming with a new career, the timing is right for it. It seems Fatshark has taken too much on their plate, they are apparently still working on VS, this huge update, new career, maybe new enemies were a bit too much and they are currently committed to doing 1 type of paid update at a time and thus careers are the paid focus?

Idk, seems wierd. I think we will get them eventually though, seems like too much of a slam dunk.

Pretty sure they said Vs was abandoned.

Anyway most of the company seems to be working on Darktide.

Oh yeah, darktide too. Jesus they are so stretched.

But no, last I heard Vs was still in development, don't think it's been cancelled.

Vermintide is fun, but it lacks ambition.

I mean, you end up fighting the same enemies all the time.

Fatshark seem like a team with a lot of great ideas - but never the time to follow them up.

Dosn't she already have Handmaiden specialisation in the game? I haven't played it, and only read about it. If I recall correctly, then the next career of Kerillian is going to be the Sister of the Thorn.

Or is it just about a new bow?

Anyway, it's pretty lazy that there won't be daemons.

    New weapons - $5.99 DLC

Alongside the release of Chaos Wastes we’re also releasing the Forgotten Relics DLC - a pack of five new weapons - one for each of the heroes (with some expected career limitations). The pack also includes four Chaos Wastes themed paintings to hang in your keep as well as a unique portrait frame. This pack will be available to purchase the moment Chaos Wastes goes live on Steam for $5.99. The weapons included in the pack are as follows:

The Trollhammer Torpedo for Bardin. Useful for controlling crowds and busting open armor.

A new Spear & Shield for Kruber. Perhaps not the greatest at dealing with a horde (leave that to the Trollhammer), but strong in a 1v1 with it’s high damage, fast attacks and the ability to strike whilst blocking.

A Moonfire Bow for Kerillian. Its basic attack sends out an arrow capable of starting fires at the cost of energy. On right click it has great range with a zoom, and offers a charged attack - also at the cost of energy. When the energy levels in the bow deplete it can be used no further, but recharges automatically when not being used.

The Griffonfoot Pistol for Saltzpyre. We teased this one late last year - it’s a lot like a sawed-off shotgun whilst similar to the Brace of Pistols, but trading long range for a projectile volley. Handy for groups of unarmored enemies.

And finally the Coruscation Staff for Sienna. This staff can shoot a volley of fiery rocks, or summon flame geysers that erupt from the ground or any surface it is cast (geyser size depends on the length of the cast). Handy for controlling crowds.

It is a free update, this new bow may be specific to the handmaiden class. It is all free. That is why there are no daemons.

I assume that we will get a new career as a paid update

edit, apparently the DLC is for weapons, so they aren't free, but the maps and new mode are free.

But still highly disappointing, and the subreddits fanboys rationalizing why you wouldn't see demons in the CHAOS WASTES was nothing short of cringey and pathetic.

I'll be honest. I'd MUCH rather it be a paid DLC so that there'd be demons to fight

    15 new locations, uhu.

Until I see it with my own eyes, this line translates to "a few actual levels, short ones at that, reskinned and flipped around so we can call it fifteen!"

But hey, its free. Only took em like six centuries.

I'm skeptical about it, especially the "15 new areas" because that can be interpreted many ways but yeah, chaos is my favorite theme in warhammer so I can't complain to much.

As I've come to understand it from https://www.vermintide.com/pilgrimsguides , the will be a new game mode that works like a rogue-like map, using those 15 locations as pieces to build your path through the map.
  • RheingoldRheingold Registered Users Posts: 1,030
Yeah don't think its 15 individual new maps. That would be more than Helmgardt. New enemies should have been there but Fatshark is completely overstretched. Frankly their top level management seems to be a mess. Doing everything they can, but nothing properly.
Still looking forward to it and the trollhammer torpedo.
One thing they have absolutely got right unlike CA is the dawi play. Bardin rocks.

Well, the name isn't Vermintide for nothing. Otherwise it would be Warhammer: Storm of Chaos.
