the hate for thanes is one of the weirded things in the many common misconceptions in public opinion. you wont find a stronger base unit. he will murder a unit of dwarf warriors and does a lot better than them vs a lot of opponents, he will regularly do 500-1000 damage value.

presumedly the ones calling it most trolled unit in the game or useless? or generally complaining about it? as for the other they go together, asking for both the most efficient body in the game AND good abilities is a bit much, not really realistic.

hes referring to being trolled on items. the thane has been through the ringer. and if all you want is cheap hero there are tons of them better in the game. try goblin big boss naked or paladin naked.

Yea, this is a great change. Makes them much more of a finesse unit in terms of coordinating when you will get fanatics.
Interesting change to VG, will make it very versatile especially for the Great Gobbo Shaman on Spider. Curious how it will play out cause you can still do the Mad Cap Mushroom for a quick double blast but now also hit armoured SEMs with it.
EDIT: Looks like most GS lords and all caster heroes got a price reduction, presumably something to do with a Waagh nerf.
Ha, par for the course to lizardmen getting nerfs instead of updates. The only point of red crested skinks in campaign is their poison, you may as well remove them.
Maybe people will finally start using normal skink skirmishes instead of spamming chameleons all the time
I doubt it. Those need a buff, even for 250 more gold the amount of extra value you get from chameleons is well worth it.

basic skins with javs are amazing is probably why the skirmisher variant sees less use. they can be ok if you really control the field though, but it's a little greedy.

The skirmishers are a completely different unit from the javelin though, they fill the same role as chameleons.
Despite only being 400 though they’re much worse than chameleons. They do less damage despite their higher model count, they die much more quickly to missiles, they don’t have stalk, and when they get caught by light cav they route like 3x faster than chameleons do.
If that's what it takes to stop people complaining about them. Fanatics outside of the Eight Peaks Loonies are already unreliable and pay a full 100 for a single ability that requires a lot of micro.
After they dumbed down their targeting and allowed them to teleport? Nope, click and spin for win.
They should of course instead have reverted the idiotic targeting changes so you can't just teleport them behind the lines.
