Just a small suggestion to give Wildwood Rangers vanguard deployment or stalk. Their lore tidbit states "an excellent first-response to impending threats" which I think would fit with their theme of being able to ambush their opponents.
I am aware their RoR variant already has vanguard deployment, however I think the Wardens of Cythral are already quite distinct from the standard version and are already sufficiently unique even if the standard version were to have vanguard deployment.
They need their damage bonus against creature that can cause fear and terror.

But it doesn't do a very good job, it's mostly going to be used vs cavalry and only works in forest blob type build. Getting rid of the forest condition can only be a good thing and making it a specialised bonus vs fear/terror is much more interesting, and won't make them stronger vs most cavalry.

If CA can do that then sure, it would be better. I'm not sure how they would do it though unless they added a new entity type or something. Or maybe give them a bonus if a fear causing unit is nearby?

It's something slayers should have also thinking about it. Perhaps for terror.
I'm not sure wildwood rangers even with BvFear/terror would be a meta spam pick vs vamp counts, coast or kings
Armour isn't really common vs wood elves and those races don't have plenty of it but they do all have the ability to destroy light armour units like WW Rangers.
It has occurred to me though that this would make it near impossible for any undead faction to win against WE.
skabscrath would still handle them, but in my 'forest combat change' thread i suggested to make it an antilarge bonus and leadership effect that activates when fear/terror is nearby (30m). That way you dont have to worry about it being a bonus vs undead infantry.

Yeah was mostly them being good vs infantry so that could work.
Imagine being able to cast aspect of the dreadnight on opponent so than your WWR get a bonus vs them :P that would be quite funny lmao

This is the side I fall on as well.
I dont like the cross over with asrai spears they currently have. Ha ING an a tuve effect vs an enemy trait is quite an interesting one and offers some more build fidelity.
I mean I mostly use the RoR only. Maybe just give them a defensive buff rather than a attack damage bonus.
They are damage dealer ****, not spear wall or specialist monster hunter. They are hunter of terror because they work in wildwood, the scariest place second to the chaos realm. They needs a special role that separates them from being a typical anti-large halberdier.
Vanguard would be cool but they would Need a slight cost adjustement or other stats tweaks as that does not comes for free
But yeah, i'm all for making units more interesting to take
thats assuming they are good with their current stats and worth the gold tag, which if they were would not need a buff to begin with.

They have tons of traits which are rarely all useful at the same time, which makes them hard to use and weird. Maybe some of these could be swapped for something more "stable" like Vanguard or whatnot
On the other hand, they have very good stats and can punch way above their weight in a square engagement, so i would be careful in buffing them too much

They’re kinda middle of road I agree their base stats really shouldn’t be touched don’t break what doesn’t need fixing. Mostly people dislike the passive overlap with spear dancers. I don’t have huge preference as I dislike spear dancers.
