Just started reading the reviews on Steam this morning. Wow!

Personally, I do find that Warhammer has brought a bit of toxicity and polarization to the franchise, as stale as it had become since FOTS. Maybe it'll die off a bit once Warhammer III goes through its lifecycle and we finally get a Medieval 3. Both "wings" of the fanbase would likely be content for a while.

Agreed. That said troy campaign is pretty decent but battles suck big time. 3k is so much better in that respect. Here’s hoping for a medieval3
3K's battles were destroyed by OP cavalry and all the OP character abilities that are even more broken than stuff from Warhammer. So no, can't agree with that.

I wouldn't mind Rhesus and Memnon and agree that's what seems most likely. Though if I'm being honest I want Troilus to become a playable faction as well. He could be a cool potentially more maritime Trojan faction. Maybe kind of a Trojan equivalent to Odysseus with the port building limitation. His Homeric quest would probably pit him against Diomedes/Argos.

Troilus would also be fun to see another competitor for the Priam's Heir mechanic.

Since they seem to be adding factions two at a time Nestor would be a potential person to include with him. I don't know what his mechanic would be, but Pylos would be an amazing starting position.

Why do you think battles suck?
I enjoy them very, very much. Finally a game without super strong units/single entities (only played historical so far).

I assume that Rhesus faction will be placed with his capital at Aenos

for game play ....I think the furthest north on the black sea in Thrace would be best......my opinion

Hmm, Rhesus is already in the game and he leads Thrakes faction. IIRC Aenos is another Thracian faction, separate from Rhesus one.

IIRC at the moment he starts in the region no 13 in this picture:

If it was up to me I would move him to western Thrace (13*).

    @RafSwi7

This makes Rhesus a big faction ...............might have an issue with Penthesileia a fellow thracian ........maybe a need for an alliance is necessary

Ἀμαζὼν Πενθεσίλεια παραγίνεται Τρωσὶ συμμαχήσουσα, Ἄρεως μὲν θυγάτηρ, Θρᾶισσα δὲ τὸ γένος.
The Amazon Penthesileia arrives on the scene, intending to act as ally to the Trojans. She is the daughter of Ares and is Thracian by birth.

    ........................................................

did they say anything on adding Memnon .............from Assyria ?

Assyrian king Tentamus as sending an Aethiopian Memnon to help a Priam who is depicted as an Assyrian vassal, and 663–656 was a period when Assyria did, as a matter of historical fact, control Aethiopia. But as R. Drews has pointed out (“Aethiopian Memnon: African or Asiatic?, the Memnon of myth is an Asiatic Oriental, the Eastern son of Dawn, unconnected with the real world’s African Ethiopia,

    ...................................................

as per your map........13* looks good as well

    BTW.....I see you have Memnon ( 14 ) coming from Syria ( Assyria )

My guess would be that he'd probably end up being depicted as a bit of both - as a black African (because of the obvious modern association of Ethiopia with Africa) with special abilities/bonuses related to being the son of Eos. I have no idea how that might look though.

Hopefully he'll be a Trojan version of Achilles - a fighter hero.

however, after the delay of the release of warhammer 3, another dlc for troy seems obvious to me. could we hope for a dlc for halloween or at christmas?

maybe the dlc could be two?

Yeah, in general I would put Memnon somewhere between Sarpedon and Hippolyta (if we had map expansion to the east) or east of Sarpedon (if we have no map expansion).

Obviously if we had some Egyptian coast in DLC he would start there.

I doubt that two DLCs before WH3 are possible. I mean in super optimistic scenario we would have new DLC per 4 months. WH3 would have to be delayed once more for it (I hope it won't).
