GETTING SAURON IN THIRD AGE TOTAL WAR

Hello:

This is not a discussion question, but a solution for someone who has the Third Age Total War mod for Medieval II: Total War. So, the people who have this mod, maybe have wondered how to get Sauron inmediately instead of searching the One Ring.

Maybe, this will affect the "One Ring Event" but you can remove this from the edited file.

Step 1:
Go to: /Steam/steamapps/common/Medieval II Total War/mods/Third_Age_3/data/world/maps/campaign/imperial_campaign/descr_strat.txt

Step 2:
Go to the Mordor's (England) section, and add this:

character Sauron, named character, male, age 22, x 289, y 137, portrait sauron, hero_ability SAURON, label sauron1, battle_model sauron
traits Sauron 1, GoodCommander 5, NaturalMilitarySkill 4, NightBattleCapable 1, Brave 5
ancillaries sauron_mace, one_ring
army
unit Sauron Elephants exp 6 armour 0 weapon_lvl 0
unit Mordor Halberd exp 3 armour 0 weapon_lvl 0
unit Mordor Halberd exp 3 armour 0 weapon_lvl 0
unit Mordor Uruks exp 5 armour 1 weapon_lvl 0
unit Mordor Uruks exp 4 armour 1 weapon_lvl 0
unit Mordor Orcs Mercs exp 2 armour 1 weapon_lvl 0
unit Mordor Orcs Mercs exp 4 armour 1 weapon_lvl 0
unit 2handed Orcs exp 6 armour 0 weapon_lvl 0
unit 2handed Orcs exp 4 armour 0 weapon_lvl 0
unit Morannon Guard exp 1 armour 1 weapon_lvl 0
unit Morannon Guard exp 2 armour 1 weapon_lvl 0
unit Mordor Archers Mercs exp 4 armour 1 weapon_lvl 0
unit Mordor Archers Mercs exp 2 armour 0 weapon_lvl 0
unit Mordor Archers Mercs exp 3 armour 0 weapon_lvl 0
unit Mordor Orcs Mercs exp 4 armour 0 weapon_lvl 0
unit Mordor Orcs Mercs exp 5 armour 0 weapon_lvl 0
unit Battle Trolls exp 2 armour 0 weapon_lvl 0
unit Battle Trolls exp 3 armour 0 weapon_lvl 0

Step 3:
Save the file and run the game. If you have problems of adding this powerful Maia, reply this discussion!

Edit: Make sure to do the proper spaces between the names and numbers.

Put the file stuff into code tags, it preserves proper (multiple, tab) spacing, it's the drop down of the weird P symbol

    character Sauron, named character, male, age 22, x 289, y 137, portrait sauron, hero_ability SAURON, label sauron1, battle_model sauron
    traits Sauron 1, GoodCommander 5, NaturalMilitarySkill 4, NightBattleCapable 1, Brave 5

Yup, but you may have to copy the content again from your script as any tabbing\multiple space has now been reduced to a single space die to it being posted in regular display first.

And your OP's example is missing the closing 'spoiler' tag. Removing it from the beginning, then select the coded part again and select 'spoiler' from the same drop down as the code tag.

Ok. Thanks for the explanation to use spoilers properly. But I have to say something. I made two discussions, because I thought that the discussion I made, was deleted. The conversation was only checked, lol. Sorry, for doing that, my bad. :(

By the way, it is possible to make traits for Third Age Total War? Because, if you play as Gondor, at some point of the campaign, Aragorn will appear, and it would make sense that he would become the King of both kingdoms: Arnor and Gondor. I would like to do a trait or an ancillary, so, it will be cool. Is this possible?

It certainly is possible - the files required are all present in the mod.

I tried to post links to two guides but for some reason my posts disappear, when I am trying to post them. I am guessing the posts, or more likely the links, are being reviewed. So check here some time later.

In what file I can do that?

Soon, I will ask a moderator to delete that one.

Sure it is - the files that are required to do so are all present, other then the dedicated ancillary graphic. It does however require some knowledge about how to set up the triggers and traits\ancillaries.

    Some guides:
