Good evening, since the acquisition of a 12th generation Intel processor (i5-12600k) Napoleon Total War no longer wants to launch, when I click on "play" from Steam the game goes into launch state for about 2 seconds, nothing is displayed and the game does not start, then the "play" button reappears instantly. Indeed I guess it comes from the 12th generation processors because on the Napoleon Total War Steam threads a lot of people are complaining about this problem. Being a very big fan of this Total War with more than 500 hours of games on it, it bothers me a lot not to be able to play it anymore, thank you for trying to solve this problem as soon as possible. Have a good evening.
I have the same problem with an i7 12th generation since november. Empire Total War works for me but not Napoleon. I wrote Sega and Creative Assembly and they said, it is my fault, i haven´t the minimal requeriments hahahaha. I have red about this 12th generation micros and intel and microsoft are working in an update. My friends, i think we only have to wait. good luck
Nothing has been done yet. Not patch. Thousands of users paid money for this game and they cannot play it now because they upgraded the CPU to Intel 12th generation...
Perhaps try the workaround suggested and if that works it might be worth contacting Intel to see if they can fix it with CA.
Before anybody feels the need to keep repeating this thread. CA says its under investigation but no timeframe just watch thier mainstream news outlets to see if they going to announce a fix. Wasn't told if it was a priority in the support ticket either. bare in mind its May and this post is March and they still investigating.
I went ahead and submitted a ticket on this. Perhaps if more and more people bring up this problem to them, they’ll fix it - at least just to shut us up. “The squeaky wheel gets the grease.”
Got the same reply as @live_164509638526l0yiWX6. They just don't care. And I bet the customer service agents didn't even bring this issue further. They just copy and paste an answer and then delete your message. Someone made a ticket in March and another one in May. If they still haven't fixed it, then they probobly won't. Shouldn't take half a year to fix this little issue. They will only fix if this thing blows up, but consider this game is old and Immortal Empires will release soon it won't.
Hello everyone! I have created a petition on change.org requesting for SEGA to update Napoleon Total War so that it is compatible with 12th Gen Intel CPU's. Please take just 1 minute out of your day to sign the petition so we may hopefully be able to once again play this beloved game.
Thanks for your time, and please share this with any others fans of the game that you know of!

1 · Disagree 1AgreeSubmitted my ticket to Sega and this was the response:
'Thank you for contacting SEGA Support and for reporting this.
The game developers are aware of this issue and are currently investigating.'
So at the very least we have an official acknowledgement of the problem.
