Why does Kostaltyn have access to the Ice Court?

Would it not make more sense if his was renamed to something related to the Orthodoxy?

He can then train Patriarchs and Boyars. A hero and a lord unit. Same as the Ice Court.

It just doesn't make any sense to me.

Because the power dynamics of Kislev were poorly written

Because secondary base factions tend to get the same campaign mechanics, even if they are not appropriate, see Gelt, Teclis, and Zhao for other examples.

    2. Andy already explained this, history is full of people who are against something but feel they can control it. Religion is generally about do as I say not as I do.

Naturally, Kostaltyn does not adore that, if he is to wield the winds of magic in his armies, he must pay for training of those he despises. It is up to him – and, therefore, you – how much you do that, but the uneasy peace between the Ice Court and the Orthodoxy gives him access to the same tools as anyone else.

You can roleplay him to not use ice witches.

    3. Too lazy to give him his own mechanic.

Because having all lord and hero recruitment in Kislev tied to a thinly disguised gacha/loot box mechic would be a bad thing? There is no "training" involved, it is just pure RNG that decides if you end up with a character that is actually usefull.
The user formerly known as KN_Gars, thanks for the involunatry rename CA.
