How is it even possible that the game doesn't have an in-game chat? We need multiplayer chatrooms and in-battle chat + post-battle chat + voice chat as well. And this ain't no rocket science.
I am sure it isn't ideal. Only time I played MP was for the achievements... I am sure I will again at some stage but not something I am rushing towards.
Was just letting you know what I had read about MP chat, good luck with it!
in 99% of situation, multiplayer chat with opponents is a "nice to have" at best - and it's absence may even convince some of the more introverted gamers out there to give mp a try.
I dont see this as a real priority and frankly wont mind if it never makes it in.

You clearly don't play MP or are trolling. Chat is essential in lobbies and during games.
As long as we get some chat I'll be happy, it sucks having someone insta-ready on you and not be able to ask them for a bit more time. Also sucks not being able to message them to add them on steam, etc.
Yeah right. You have 8 players campaign, that's totally not a multiplayer game. Give me a break.
It’s a singleplayer game that happens to also have a MP mode.
The Total War Franchise has been mostly campaign-based but Warhammer itself, the tabletop game, is ONLY Multiplayer. A lot of people joined this franchise for that purpose. I think in-game chat is essential for, not only feeling like a modern game, but being able to make fun, creative Multiplayer Lobbies. How can we host a subcommander battle, faction war, Trial of Tzeentch, clan wars, or any themed unique battle without communicating?
They even took away the drawing tools - which were so great because some people didn't read chat, or there was a language barrier, but they could definitely see the arrows and circles you were drawing to coordinate mid-battle.
Yeah voice chat is great but some (probably a lot) of gamers are shy and would rather just type. I'll play with my friends but I loved just getting into a random lobby and making things happen. I really do think having in-game chat is a priority.
I actually just found out the drawing tool is still there, just under a sub tab on the left of the screen. And actually there is a ping option now too. So that's pretty relieving. Takes some of my worry away.

a game can be multiple things. Halo 3 is both a Single Player game and a Multiplayer game. Neither mode outshined the other in terms of content or polish.
Request scorched body textures, and fire death effects. At least 30% of all damage in this game comes from fire sources. Request Fire for the Fire God DLC.
We need chat room, and if can, talk sys too. Try copy Starcraft 2... simple, but working very well. And is old game, with multiplayer.... people play since 1998....
Having no chat is a joke. It's 2023 no reason for it. They already had the perfect chat just a box that you could type in. Yes we need to communicate it MP. No excuses it's not hard if you play singleplayer then it has nothing to do with it and we are all adults if people don't like what people have to say move on don't open chat easy. Get it fixed CA.
Seriously, this is one of the most backward decisions i've seen in ANY multiplayer game. It simply baffles me. This with removing tons of map from multiplayer
