It is completely normal that a FANTASY game probably GOTY 2022 without maduration period (Elden Ring type games will grow very little-1/2 DLCs max) draw players from Warhammer now
I just tried Elden and is **** awesome in its genre. I like Warhammer more but after finishing some campaigns it is normal that people go to Elden.
People know there will be no difference if they play elden now or in 6 months but with warhammer we know that every quarter the game will grow and be better so if I have to split mu time between both the decision is clear, now Elden and then warhammer.
So don't worry, stop panickingand enjoy Elden now while we get new toys for warhammer and inmortal empires.

''every quarter the game will grow and be better'' Um that applies to all games you know? Every game gets better from launch every quarter from patches, fixes, a bunch of stuff really.

You know they are different. Do you just wanna argue because your bored?
I like all the races. Equally. Wood elves are just the first among equals.
It's just extractor fans grasping at straws about how TWW3 will fail.
Let them have their fantasies.

I know they are different, but the argument that one ''will be better'' in the future'' is silly. One is a very broken game, the other is less broken, that would make more sense.
NGL - got bored of Elden ring really too quickly....
If you aren't into Souls games it won't be for you. I'm 40 hours in and chilling.

Played warhammer the first week but the problems with the tzeenetch realm kept me from finishing my game. Elden Ring came out right at that time. So I've just been playing elden ring while I wait for this first patch to hit and I can finish my campaign without issue.
I would have played multiplayer more often since that is less investment. But domination still feels real unsatisfying at the moment. So yeah I'm one of those people that will come back once the patch hits. I'm sure there are others as well.
I'm coming up on the ending right now, so it really did a good job of making the wait real easy for me.
I can't be the only one who thinks elden ring and TWW3 are two completely different games that have different-ish audiences... I don't get why these posts keep showing up.
Elden Ring is pure hype, hype games are meh. First, the noobs started with New World, then Lost Ark, now Elden Ring, pure hype, while WH3 will get bigger and bigger becoming the only worth PC game to be played, like WH2 was time ago.

Because OP is twisting it to justify making another thread about how CA is bad.

60 hours in and lovin' it myself and I feel like I've skipped half the content so far to get where I am. It's nuts.
Just hit 40 and yeah, it's a very well made map. If there's somewhere notable on the map there's very likely something cool to fight. Difficulty feels good, there's cool weapons I'll be able to use soonish.

Yes such an ugly combat. Witcher was an exception for me.
Each to their own. I find it really simple and engaging.
Witcher I found quite boring after I levelled up. ER doesn't really have that problem. Bosses will be challenging unless you power level above them. You will die.

I'm not comparing it, I'm saying that right now many players owning warhammer 3 own too Elden ring and it is normal that they lean towards elden ring as the game will not improve with time as WH3 will do.
They will come back to Warhammer 3 as soon as mods / IE are avaliable.
They cannot be compared but they share a high percentage of their player base (of those who own warhammer I would say that around the half own ER too) and people can't play 2 games at the same time
Comparing the two is perfectly valid as long as you bear in mind a few caveats: 1. Strategy games are a far more niche genre (for some reason I do not quite understand) than third person action games. 2. Difference in developer pedigree and public profile between the two studios along with the media coverage of their respective games. Fromsoft just in general is a more well-known studio and Elden Ring as the next step after the Dark Souls franchise, one of the now most respected franchises in gaming, just towers over CA and Total War in profile alone already.
There's probably a few more but those are the major two that stand out to me.
Now, what can we compare them on while keeping those things in mind: Elden Ring is a very polished product with very few major bugs that seems to work as intended. My hardware for example is actually slightly below the minimum req specs and yet I can run it flawlessly somehow. Sure I have the graphics turned to the lowest possible settings but that same rig can barely run TWWH3 while TWWH2 was just fine. Elden Ring's core gameplay seems to not suffer from such severe design flaws that the devs had to rush a patch to put out the fire like TWWH3's 1.1 patch is poised to do. Despite RTS being my favourite genre in gaming, diehard Warcraft 1,2,3 and Starcraft 1,2 fan (even though I'm currently boycotting any and all Blizzard games until Bobby Kotick is out the door), I still come home from work and consistently pick Elden Ring over TWWH3 for my single player fun right now.
I know for a fact I'm not alone as I have literally 9 friends who are doing the same, consistently. We only stop playing Elden Ring in our free time to do co-op campaigns in TWWH3 with larger groups. In smaller groups, Elden Ring is also our preferred co-op experience for 2-3 players.
There is competition to some extent because very few gamers exclusively play just 1 genre, 1 theme, 1 franchise etc. So yes, I do think Elden Ring is helping push those TWWH3 numbers lower. But here's the twist... I think that's partially a good sign for TWWH3. I think that means that with fixes and content updates, after people want to go play more of something else again, they will happily return to play more TWWH3... provided it's gotten fixed and updated more. So I see Elden Ring as a circumstance that is genuinely 'artificially' pushing down the active player count of TWWH3 but that it can bounce back from that.

Unless you have a source showing how many own both you simply do not know. It's just guessing.

I’ve not met anyone in real life who plays elden ring. I’ve not met anyone in real life who plays Warhammer. Due to these statistics I conclude neither games exist.

Of course, is a guess based on what people comment here and in social media, and if we are speaking of mid agish fantasy theme they are among top 5 games coming in 2022 (if not in top 3)
By your comment it seems taht rest of opinions in forum including yours are based 100% in analytical analysis and exact numbers
Can you guys stop comparing pears with apples?. If you enjoy Elden Ring, go to their forum and post there. We are here to speak about Warhammer, its pros and cons.
What is next?, comparing Warhammer's numbers with Fortnite's numbers?...
