Not only did they release a game with a small campaign that is even worse than the previous small campaign. They also released it in such a broken state that Mortal Empires takes significantly longer than last time, while running on the same old slow patch policy.
But my longest standing gripe for Warhammer 3 is with their small settlement overhaul. It just does not feel right that the daemon races would start building defensive positions, towers and walls - I get it, they are hybrid races and have mortal followers, but they are still a possessed, unrestrained force of destruction first and foremost. They should only have defensive siege defense battles in their province capitals, and those need to be way more thematic.
I am not saying to abolish buildings - just give us open field battles over minor settlements if they belong to daemons. Keep tower defense for everyone else, if you must. But those open field battles are a strong, universally liked feature of the game (well, if autoresolve starts working properly again one day).
It needs to be pointed out that what people call "cheese" is just playing the game the way it actually exists not in some fictional way they think it is supposed to work.
cos people played WoC faction and horde factions in general suck without some sort of settlement controls
CA please give us Shogun Multi layer wall Sieges back along with Roles/Fog of war we want EPIC sieges!! 'personally i think the 3 kingdoms style of building armies is the best for balance alongside stronger unit roles and larger unit sizes' also allowing Chars too specialise in range/siege in particular in skills/traits..
Yep, CA failed big time with this release. Five years of planning, production, player feedback and QA, and they stuffed up royally.
Still, their pre-order policy almost certainly made the game a great financial success. Reinvesting those profits back in to fixing the game might save some face, but overall I think there will be quite a tarnished reputation going forward for all their future games.
A real shame I feel, most likely influenced by decisions (or non decisions) made at an executive level.
I am The Beast of Guanyin, The one who beasts 25 hours a day, 8 days a week, Vanilla Gorilla, The great bright delight, Conqueror of Mountains, Purveyor of wisdom, Official forum historian, Master Tamer of energy, the one they fear to name, Beastradamus, The Teacher, Master Unbiased Pollster, The Avatar of Tuesday, Chief hype Train Conductor, Uwu Usurper, Pog Wog Warrior, Poggers Patroller, Alpha of the species, Apex protector, Praetor of Positivity, Drybrush Disciple, Sophisticated Savage.
Same for me. The game works, and I enjoy my 3rd campaign. It it still a little too limited, DLC and especially IE will make it better. But game is not a failure. It is just different. If you keep trying to play it as ME or Vortex, it won't work well. If you want to play Game 2 instead of Game 3... well... Go back to game 2. Or wait for IE.
1 - Never pre-order. 2 - Never purchase a CA game on date of release. 3 - YouTube content creators are bought and paid for and will not/cannot criticise the game. 4 - Games journalists are not even the same level as the ones who work for your local paper, and probably never played the game they reviewed and gave 9/10.

I like to buy day 1 everything tw Warhammer related. It’s not a morality lesson, but customer preference. Same as when I buy anything, I buy it because I want it.
BEARS, Beets, Battlestar Galactica 🧝♀️ Pandas too please CA!
Beatsmen were solved kinda well. If they weren't so OP, it would be perfect.
One issue with the Beastmen, however, is that the AI is too **** to stay alive. Like, even in the case of them gaining a settlement, they usually only hold onto that, and are an occasional nuisance to everyone around them. And CA has not fixed that yet.
But yeah, the mechanics are stupidly boring and overpowered.
Furthermore, I consider that Daemon Prince must be removed.
I am even enjoying my second campaign (not really the second, more like the 10th, but this is the second that i expect ending) more than the first.
WH3 has a lot of excellent qualities, with some minor easily solvable issues and some questionable design choices that could easily be solved too.
Yes. Yes it is. Overhaul needed.

1. I make my own retail decisions 2. I did and I'm still playing as well as saving myself £9.99 3. Youtube creators often criticise the game 4. To much of a general point

2 · 2Disagree 2AgreeAnd now I got ripped off with WH3 with it being a rushed mess. Learned my lesson twice, CA is not a trustworthy dev house.
