How to fix vassals

I was thinking about fixing vassals, especially for slannesh and Nakai, and I think the only way (and easiest) might be to take away their ability declare war or be declared upon.

That seems the most historically accurate way of doing it and would make it beneficial to have them. They follow where their liege lord goes.

So while they are vassals they are always at war with every faction you are and if you make peace they are removed from the war as well. You wouldn't even be able to uncheck the invite allies for them.

Effectively binding them to you as long as they are willing to pay you for the protection. Could even as an option where you would pledge to another faction in exchange for their protection.

What do you think, agree or do you have another idea?
I like all the races. Equally. Wood elves are just the first among equals.

Agreed, but that won't fix them.
They must also provide you with more income.
On top of that Slaanesh should be able to dominate legendary lords as well.

Slaanesh should be dominant. Let him be the daddy.

Well I think income should be related to their size and if it's just flat income and control that would be a bit op. If they went that way their would Neff to be income and diplomatic penalties for letting them lose too much territory.

    Um, your comment seems contradictive.

That wouldn't be hystorical at all. Vassals had plenty of freedom ...
As far as game mechanics, yes vassals should have extremely limited diplomatic options both ways and unlike WH2 shouldn't declare war on their overlord 2-3 turns after being vassalized and having no army vs a player strength rank 1.

    automatic trade agreement upon vassalized
CA please give us Shogun Multi layer wall Sieges back along with Roles/Fog of war we want EPIC sieges!! 'personally i think the 3 kingdoms style of building armies is the best for balance alongside stronger unit roles and larger unit sizes' also allowing Chars too specialise in range/siege in particular in skills/traits..

Not all vassals and it's hard to separate small factions with big ones.

The thing is that in reality there were tons of ways a lord/vassal relationship could go, often with varying terms and conditions. The issue is that its very hard to replicate this in the game, maybe with multiple levels that could be agreed upon beforehand in through the diplomacy menu. But in Slaanesh's case I doubt it would be anything less than full submission.

To be honest though, within the game I would say the only way around the AI's inability to check if the faction they're declaring war in is their ally's vassal would just be take away more of the vassals diplomatic independence and require other faction to just declare war on their master. I could have sworn though that vassals already paid a percentage of their income to their master or maybe that was reduced in this game.

Another thing I would actually like to see, although this is more of the sake of flavour than anything else, would be for factions that have been corrupted by successfully Slaanesh to perhaps loose their corruption mitigating building if they have one and for it to be replaced with a special Temple of Slaanesh chain that generates Chaos corruption instead.

I think that's a cool idea, if human chaos factions were turned to the worship of slannesh.
