Resolving the 'kingdoms.exe cannot be found' error in M2TW

The above error has been created by CA through merging the two executable files in the Steam version into the medieval2 executable file. As mods are launched through referencing the executable file and modders were using the kingdoms executable due to it's advanced abilities any mod doing so ends up with the above error.

Workarounds in early days included the 'directory renaming' method and editing Steam's Launch Option for the game. Both of which severely limit use of mods and each come with it's own pitfalls, the least being the need to manually edit things for each new mod.

The tried, tested and extremely easy, one time solution is to make a copy of the medieval2 executable file and rename the copy to kingdoms.

For those that have difficulties doing this I have written a detailed guide at TWC as well as Steam - both also have a link in them to my small app that does the renaming for them: "Starting M2TW Mods the easy Way"
