HELP | Battle multiplayer

yesterday i have built a mod for bigger size unit's for troy total war. the mod are 1.7.0 updated and have been cheked for no crashes or problems. and found by the launcher . when i try to play with my brother the game tell him he cant join my room because we got different version.(both of us got 1.7.0)
i gave him the same file and his launcher also found it as well. is troy cant run mods in multi?
