Folks, let's avoid drifting into a technical back-and-forth about reality. This is a fantasy game. Let's all go with the flow and stay on this thread topic. Thanks.

Looking at the size (blank space) of Khuresh and Ind, I see room for at least 3 more Woodie settlements

I would like to see a Wood Elf settlement at the ocean (including a harbour building)
I don't think that Wood Elf trees need to be oaks. They could be also be bamboos and mangroves.
they look magnificiant enough to be magical

While i think there is potential for 3 more wood elf settlements based on map size, I don't think it's likely.

3 would probably be an upper limit one south/central/eastern Cathay(most likely), one darklands (not likely) and one somewhere else like an island or khuresh (unlikely)

Having them all would probably make the wood elves to strong and I honestly can't think of that many buffs to apply to both their world roots mechanic and unique build chain that would be at the same standards as everything else. Can you?

It would also mean tech trees would need some expansion.
I like all the races. Equally. Wood elves are just the first among equals.

name it "kachas pass" close to orc's drift with the WE faction being "brommedir expedition"

    for some oldhammer references

If we assume that CA places a major wood elf settlement somewhere around cathay in IE, what would it buff and who is likely to occupy it?

I imagine it would provide some sort of diplomacy buff for Cathay and maybe the ogres. But can't think of what else it might provide the faction.

I could also imagine it being occupied by a Cathay minor faction with a name implying they are monks or something.

    What do you reckon?

I'd love to see a lesser, but similar effect to Cathay: melee units gets +defense, ranged units get +reload speed when near each other. I think it would have a good effect with every Wood Elf faction.

If that steps on Cathay's toes too much (which I personally don't think it does, but it's not my decision) then I'd expect a universal diplomacy buff. God knows Drycha desperately needs diplomacy.

It's from a second edition warhammer fantasy scenario call Blood Bath at Orc's Drift, set "far in the north west of the New World, beyond the lands of the Dark Elves but standing before the borders of the Northern Chaos Wastes, the Goblins Wars of Ramalia has come to an end at last. An uneasy alliance between the colonial principalities of Elves, Dwarfs and Man had united under the banner of the Half-Elf Laeron. This might warrior from the Old World had led them to victory against the invading Orc and Goblin hordes that came swarming from their nests beneath the Ramalian mountains of the Norther Wastes."

So the Orc Warlord F'yar assassinated Laeron and invaded the area, again. Kachas Pass is the first scenario where a group of Orcs attacked the unit of Wood Elves from Fendal there. They are led by Wood Elf Captain Leg- Ergolas Thringal. He and his lieutenant both have chainmail armour sword and bow. His unit has short bow and shield.

The final scenario is call Ror-- I mean, Orc's Drift, where the Elves (non-specific) led by Brommedir and Dwarfs led by Osrim Chardz guard a small compound against the Orc's main army.

Dude wore mithril armour, had a sword a bow and a shield. His unit has mail armour a shield a sword and a bow.
