I dunno. I mean valnir may be bland. But that blandness sets him apart. All the others are big hulking monsters. Valnir is a skinny shrunken grim reaper. He's no monster or maggot. He's not mutated triplets. He's just a warrior. That makes him really appeal to me. I mean the closest guy to valnir is maybe like.... gutrot?

As for the other three they're all cool. So is aekold being a healer/warrior.

An emaciated grim reaper like one of the four horsemen of the apocalypse sounds like an awesome Nurgle Lord to me.

When it comes to the 5E champions:

Valnir is, unforntunately, very bland compared to other, later, Nurgle lords.

Dechala, on the other hand, is probably one of the coolest Nurgle lords. And we shoulda got her instead of Azazel.

Arbaal and Egrimm at least have cool mounts going for them.

You can't swap out one of these characters for another. The 5E champions, like the 7E champions, are a set. Having one without the others would just be wrong.

If Arbaal comes, then Egrimm, Valnir, and Dechala must also come.
Huh are they that closely linked then?
They all came in the same army book, and were presented as "The Champions of Chaos." I'd say they're pretty closely linked.

    I mean.

    To be fair.

Arbaal can be considered more daemon than Valkia because he is riding Khorne's personal pupper who happens to be a daemon.

So if we look at it in this way, that Khorne pupper is being added oh and that guy he drags around what's his name? Orbital? bah who cares.

Yea I think dox has been rageing that arbaal deserves a slot in chaos more for a while now. Maybe he'll get what he was speculating.

Or maybe he'll also go to warriors.

All four 5e lords should be easy to do with a reskin of marked lords imo. Except dechala

Yeah personally I don't think DoC or WoC will actually be "completed" after this DLC. I think ET units like Skullreapers, Wrathmongers, Blight Kings, Pox Maggoths(were they ET or Tamurkhan?) etc. will almost certainly not be included, just because of the sheer amount of models they will have to make for marked units alone.

So I could totally see them doing a couple DLC's like Arbaal, Egrimm/Aekold(This will be a duel for the ages), Dechala etc.

Yea people are gonna be mad but i agree

Them splitting up the gods means end times and old units like boobsnakes (pleasure seekers) are 100% on the table.

Edit: ooof I misread. You're wrong likely. End times storm of chaos etc are all on the table.
No, you did not misread but rather misinterpreted. I'm saying stuff like Skullreapers and Wrathmongers for Khorne, or Blight Kings for nurgle or what have you will not appear in THIS DLC. That's because of the sheer amount of models they already have on their plate. So those units are free for future content instead. So we can get an Arbaal DLC with those units for example.

I meant that there is still content to add for Chaos, sorry if I was unclear(I agree my original post was not worded very well).

Wait...he said ET units won't be included because too many new models. Like WTF

We already have End Times units like Eltharion's homie units he gets from Tor Yvresse.

It gives me hope for old school champs to get done! Arbaal, Egrimm, Aekold etc...

The 5e warrior line up would be amazing.

The only ones I'm worried about not getting are valnir and aekold.

Valnir cuz way too many nurgle chaos lords

Aekold cuz he's very similar to egrimm.
I feel Aekold could be interesting with an aura that heal/resurrect everyone around him, even the enemies, I dont find him similar to Egrimm at all personally.

Given how Khorne isn’t exactly drowning in options, could be that this is a hint at him being in the next lord pack for Khorne.

    Dragons are cool too...

Valnir is still my favourite nurgle hero. The undead marauder brought by nurgle to spread disease.

    WoC:
    -Archaon
    -Kholek
    -Sigvald
    -Festus
    -Vilitch
    -Azazel
    -Valkia
    -Be'lakor

    Khorne:
    -Skarbrand
    -Skulltaker
    -Arbaal
    -Haargoth

    Tzeentch:
    -Kairos
    -Blue Scribes
    -Egrimm
    -Melekh

    Nurgle:
    -Ku'gath
    -Epidemus
    -Valnir
    -Feytor

    Slaanesh:
    -N'kari
    -Masque
    -???
    -Strykaar

Could go to either WoC or Monos:
    -Scyla
    -Galrauch
    -Gutrot Spume
    -??? [Slaanesh]

That's probably how I see lords for WoC/Monos for the rest of the game.

My only concern is that I kinda suck at the game, so the "Undefeated" moniker is going to get real ironic, real fast.

    Fixed.

Not really. Arbaal and Egrimm were introduced in the 4E armybook. Valnir and Dechala were added a full edition later. Not much of a set.

They all came in the same army book

They were all in that book, but they weren't all introduced in it.

Putting Archaon's Lts in any race but Archaon's is ridiculous.

And that's ignoring the fact that they don't deserve to be LLs in the first place.

My only concern is that I kinda suck at the game, so the "Undefeated" moniker is going to get real ironic, real fast.

It did in the table top, his rules are awful. But he’s just the king of ridiculous with that silly giant flesh hound.

It’ll be interesting to see how they translate his gimmick. A LL you can actually kill permanently? Non-standard Game Over if you’re playing him? Give him unbreakable so he can’t actually flee? Just ignore it entirely?

Since his rule is simply not being able to flee (Or he get turned into a Chaos Spawn iirc) maybe he shouldn't get the retreat option when engaging an army/city (Or getting attack by them). But at the same time would get bonuses for going against stronger armies (Favouring smaller armies with Arbaal to rack up bonuses and such against other armies)

Agreed he definitely shouldn’t be able to choose to flee from a fight in campaign. Bonuses vs stronger armies does feel appropriate as well.

But what happens if he’s made to flee in battle and turned into a spawn? Or the army routs? Is he gone permanently? Do you lose your LL if you’re playing him?

Give him unbreakable, if he lose a battle, he get wounded like any other LL

No possibility to make him retreat from battle manually either

So you either win or wound Arbaal

I mean it could be cool to do a "you lose the battle with arbaal? Restart"

It'd be a very nice novelty and challenge. His bonuses go up with the difficulty slider and how outnumbered he is.

Add a specific achievement for painting the map with him on legendary.
