Dwarves are in Dire Need of Mobility and Monsters

They struggle to hold ground during these years of monsterous additions to multiple factions! Dare say Dwarves deserve some of their own. The 2 different units of Rune Golems would do nicely! And as for mobility / monsterous units I think we would love to see the Thunderbarge foot the bill!

Thoughts?

    They don't need Monsters they would make them more like Cathay. Not having Monsters is part of the asymmetry and identity.
    Also arn't Miners meant to be their mobility before they got reduced to chaff?

    Just because of domination mode? Nah..

    CA need to change the concept of domination instead (eg. Landbattle with only 1 capture point)

    I kind of disagree.

    I think that the Dwarves could certainly use the Rune Golems and Rune Guardians as types of monstrous infantry, but I don't think they need a ton of stuff, but rather, they need a nice buff to what they have as well.

    Because the Dwarves are so limited, their infantry should be some of the best in the game.

    Yeah, Miners shouldn't be beating Chaos Chosen like they're nothing, but their infantry should be able to outfight almost anything below them.

    The dwarves should be all about quality troops over quantity ones.

    I hate the Dwarfs playstyle exactly because they have no mobilty and monsters. I get the asymmetry argument, but personally, the way I see it is they are just no fun to play. You can literally go AFK with them and win. I hate commanding armies that minimise the importance of your input.

    On the other hand, there are lots of other people who like turtle style. That's the beauty of this game, there alot more other factions for you to choose from

    Alway thought Dwarfs were missing a steam tank type SEM, especially since they had one in old lore and even had a model. It was just never given an update compared to the Empire steam tank.

    But no, Dwarfs shouldn't get fast cavalry, they already got Giros, some things should be kept asymetrical otherwise all the factions would just be reskins of the same units.

    they have fast helicopters and it works, I know because they saved my ass from skavens in my VH Thorgrim campaign last year (before the Ironbrow update) were Eshin and Moors were snowballing and bee lining me.

    The issue I see is they don't have any T5 units - everything got bumped up, because that was where they were valued, and there has been no top shelf units since.

    Agreed, they need something to help them deal with the giant super units that other races have.

    I personally think that they could really use a couple monstrous infantry units in the form of the Rune Golems and Guardians.

    I still say a hero with Population growth skill (Brewmaster) is needed; helps get the Dawi to upper tiers of tech sooner and keep up.

    Dwarfs are probably the most one-note roster in the entire game, so they do need help. Adding a few units of a different type shouldn't be so dramatic that it completely 180s their playstyle though. Rune Guardians would be the dawi equivilent of Treekin really, doubling down on the already defensive nature of the army by providing even more tankiness to their frontlines. Rune Golems would pretty much be Rogue Idols. Mobility is already provided by Gyros, though I argue that they alongside various other dwarf units such as Miners, Rangers and to an extent, Slayers, could use some buffs or reworks. Shard Dragons if they're ever added would have much in common with Dread Saurians in both SP and MP, limited access, expensive, and one heck of a distraction Carnifex in battle, and Thunderbarges are pretty much unanimously wanted. Aside from the meme worthy ram cavalry that gets brought up by the occasional wazzock, nothing that's been proposed would radically alter the dwarfen identity in battle, just either buff it or in the case of Rune Golems and Shard Dragons, provide a threat that forces the opponent to choose between dealing with it, or the dawi gunline, which is quite complementary.

    I know it's similar to Skaven, but I've always thought that Dwarves would do well to have a "Menace Below" type ability that would allow you to summon miners on the battlefield. Would help them shut down range a bit

    With the Ally Outpost system and Ogre Mercs in IE I don't think those weaknesses will exist for them anymore.

    dwarfs are perfect as they are.. they are just like in tabletop.. its good that they are diferent.. they got lots of shooting and slayers for dealig with giants etc... not every race needs everything... thats the beaty of the game. and dwarfs with monsters and cav are chaos dwarfs anyway

    Dwarves are great how they are. Gyros and slayers are a good part of the counter roster. Plus all their infantry are just solid.

    If anything Dwarfs just need to more competently do the things they are meant to do.

    They need dwarf juggernauts. A mix between a steam tank and a battlewagon. Mounted with iron drakes or troll hammer torpedos, and a steam cannon on front.

    then dwarf steam drillers, to trap stuff in place just like the skaven ones can, except maybe they can do it to one unit at a time but more often.

    then I'd like a flamethrower gyro, and then thunder barges.
