Just new lighting.

Looks like the Game 2 to 3 lighting needs an overpass, just like the Game 1 to Game 2 lighting did.

no its the generic textures of the star dragons, Imrik's dragon does have his own unique textures, not the same at all, OP is right.

take a look at the correct model in game 2:

its not just the lighting. its a completely different model/unit.

I guess the only difference I'm seeing is the colors on the wings.

We've seen things like Vargulfs and Warpstone undergo similarly dramatic changes in appearance and color under new lighting systems.

But maybe I'm not familiar enough how the regular star dragons look to know for sure.

Aside from lighting and brightness, I'm actually struggling to see the difference.

The splotches on the wings in TWWH3 seem the only thing I can pin down.

Minaithnir is blue grey, closer to his description in the short story from White Dwarf 266. His horns and claws are yellow, his eyes orange, and his wings sport different spots.
