Auto resolution in legendary

I'm playing Be'lakor in multiplayer against a friend (who is Kislev) and one of my provinces just got attacked by a norsca.

But what was my surprise to see that despite everything, I win in auto resolution while we are in legendary / very difficult

Edit: To explain, I leave the city to attack the army that besieges me. The autoresolve considers that its 5 troops can defeat an army

I feel like injured troops have an extreme impact on AR

Doesn't fully answer your question but just so you know, AR is based on battle difficulty not campaign difficulty. So the Legendary part has no impact.

Against a human player both sides should count as normal battle diff for AR battle results.

Yepp during some AR setting in history, severely injured units whould negatively impact you AR results. Ie you'd do better without them in your army at all, then with them in.

I've noticed something similar too. I have a high elf campaign in which I can basically autoresolve everything, because no battle gives me less than Close victory with my main army, even against similar (or even stronger on paper) armies. I thought it was something to do with a wrong calculation of the power of high elf units, but it may be something with AR altogether.

Actually, there are times in which AR probably gives me better result than me playing the battle, so I feel discouraged from playing them. Eg, when there are a lot of different units in the enemy army, I may lose 1 or 2 of mine, but the AR gives me low casualties, so why should I risk it?),

All the difficulties are at the maximum

    Legendary for the campaign

    Very hard for battles ☺

It's worse than you think. But there's more. Ever wondered why your near-perfect victory is a close victory and not a decisive one? Well...
