It happens when you defend a minor settlement and the AI is attacking. You can reproduce the bug even by starting a skirmish minor settlement battle vs AI as a defender. Mind you, being an attacker in this situation does not cause the bug.

tried a defense siege battle in a minor settlement in skirmish vs ai froze twice. music and icon animations still work but, the battle and menu icons don't respond. also the camera acts like its trapped. trying to move it only resulted in small jiggles.

Plus one here. Defending as Cathay. Versus different armies of enemy. Freezing in different moments of battle. Tried to play the battle several times and its freezing in different places. Probably bug caused by heavy towers which firing with heavy bombs exploding.

Still happening. Was in a defensive siege battle and it froze after about 10 min of gameplay. My FPS was still good 90+ but all the units froze but would update a frame every 10 sec or so. Could pan around the battlefield just fine with no frame drops.
