I dearly hope you're not in the engineering field or something of the sort

Why? Some of America's greatest engineers repeatedly failed while trying to go to the moon.

Regular engineers aren't expected to fail because they are working with well understood problems, those that pioneer new things fail. That's what R&D involves.

Malakai is the inventor the Grimm wish he could be... but Malakai is a Slayer because innovation requires failing many times over and the Dwarfs don't accept failure.

Unsinkable ship that actually sunk is a great innovation.
Is it a ship or a Submarine ? Like I have Nautilus in my head but I don't remember if it's with Malakai or another

If we don't get thunder barge and some type of fast moving mechanical unit that sort of works like cavalry I'm going to be ****. There surely has to be some sort of fast moving dwarven contraption they can add. Sick of dwarves being bottom tier in multi player.

Can people stop saying that he invented a flying ship ? Those already existed before he even tried his first

Hell the Thunderbarge existence precede his first appearance I think

is the biggest and best airship ever built. Actually, as far as ah ken it’s only the second one ever built.

    From Daemonslayer.

The first one is of course the undestructible, also made by Malakai.

Now you will say that "as far as ah ken", means that there could be others Malakai doesnt know about, but if there was a flying ship made before, the dwarfs would know about it, specially the engineers. So at least until Malakai was expelled from the guild there were no others.
That's what he said, not what is correct, and we all know how boastful the dwarfs are

Zhufbar it's self has already launched 3 such Tunderbarge. 1 being named but the 2 other remaining unnamed

    This isn’t rocket science.

    - Grudge racker Thunderer
    - ironbreaker with Drakefire Pistols
    - Deathroller

Yeah, and does it mention those were launched before Malakais one?

You cant make an omelet without breaking some eggs

You can build a ship that won't sink on its first voyage. That's why there are ships in the first place.

Really making an airship is not a big achievement? I guess Leonardo of Miragliano, the inventor of the steam tanks, is a loser then.

There is a difference between inventing new stuff and failing at making something that already existed before.
It is good that Malakai invented the airships then, look at my other comment.

They appear in the lore even before Malakai was invented, so either they were retconned to be his invention or they existed before him :)
And the Dwarf Navy also use them (dreadfleet)

Is it a ship or a Submarine ?

I would call it "disposable submarine". It can go underwater, but only once.

I don't think that's true, but either way he for sure didn't invent Ironclads.

I dont see how that goes against Malakai being the inventor, you can include a machine into the setting and later say "Oh yeah it was created by x".

No, but the one he made was the biggest ever (said in the book), so he didnt just copy the existing ones.

I think I remember a mention about Kraken Slayer, but I don't remember their cannonicity

Other wise for Sea/Mariner units/variants we have Barak Varr's Thunderlord (Ranger with Handgun) and Thunderguard (Not sure if Ironbreaker or Hammerer)

Got the name wrong so I spend a few minutes looking up the wrong word and missed it:

    Stormwarden (Ranger)

    And in a passage:

A large regiment of Hammerers known as the Storm Guard are stationed as Karnji's personal guard when he leads the army and act as his heralds when he is absent

Ah... Sad... no experimental units in that book from an army perspective. Most of the introduced things there are about sieges. Skaven have a nice Warp-Doom Magma-Cannon.
