Ranked Matchmaking - Slow end PC's and Flying Lords

This discussion is about lag - which causes games to slow down.

Ultimately i would like to start off the discussion by asking CA if there's a chance for them to implement a tool to the game the detects if the game is running slow. This is for Ranked Matchmaking where there should be an option to Opt out of a game, if something or someone is causing the game to run FAR BELOW optimal game speed. With no punishment to the players Ranking.

I personally really hate the fact that my winrate in ranked matchmaking is below 40% as i know, a lot of the causes are out of my hands. I have been playing a lot of Ranked matchmaking recently and i have come across people who have had, good, decent and bad pc's as well as connections.

I really don't think it's fair, for the player(s) who got a decent computer, that they get a penalty (loss) when they decide to opt out of a game because it's running at 40% speed. I don't think it's fair for someone (online) wanting to sit down and have fun only to end up meeting someone who can't run the game. It's a huge waste of time and it's not fun to face up against but most players do it because they want to "Preserve" their win ratio. I personally really pity those players who maybe don't have a lot of time in front of the PC because, "Life" that they, have to go through something like that.

I don't know about you guys if you think we should be pushing for a better online service, i mean it's pretty discriminating against the low end players but again if a lot of players opt out of a game, against the same person. Maybe there they can be automatically put into a system where ranked matchmaking don't use Ultra / large unit scales and where maps are smaller?

Perhaps if that works well for like 3 - 5 matches they get put back into the poll of Ultra / large unit scales on larger maps and if people start to opt out again they go back. That way it's not as disciminating and they can still play ranked and earn points.

Flying Lords rework when?????
Leadership debuff's for flying units should tick down faster in MP when the opponent don't have any ground units. They can cycle charge you to death and you can litterally do nothing if you brought an army who's lacking flying / missile units and even if you brought a lot of missiles the flying dodge is wayyyy better than the ground unit's dodge ability's so stagger needs to be easier to perform or leadership need to have a Humongous impact change... Being in the air, with no means of protection causes one to panic a lot easier, given there's nothing to hide behind and your fully exposed. Or give missile units a huge damage buff against flying.. Just like there's bonuses vs Large. idk what you do but flying lords have an advantage that's too great and is often not made up for in cost.

    Agree I have some horrendously slow games and it's infuriating as you have no way of knowing until you are trapped.

    Similarly the flying ld debuff has been too generous it should be quicker and not return when back in the air

    It's not just the slowness that is infuriating, but when the game lags units also seem to not respond as well and many simply drop orders. I've lost games because of this.

    CA should add dedicated server support at some point in the future, and if the game lags and can be verified by some sort of system that your opponent is causing it, you should be able to opt-out of the battle without any penalty.

    Yeah, lags are quite a sad situation, because they also tend to stop larger multiplayer games such as 3v3s, which would be epic at a decent speed, and draw in more people to try, and hopefully stick with, the competitive side!

    Lag also make all rush factions seem very worse. Especially when fighting defensive players in Land Battle. How can you surprise attack them if your units run like a snail?
