Malakai isn't a nobody. He's the best DLC LL choice
Yeah he is, if you get your "who's who in Warhammer" important lore facts from forums.
There's no need to gatekeep.
You're allowed your preferences, others are allowed theirs.
I am The Beast of Guanyin, The one who beasts 25 hours a day, 8 days a week, Vanilla Gorilla, The great bright delight, Conqueror of Mountains, Purveyor of wisdom, Official forum historian, Master Tamer of energy, the one they fear to name, Beastradamus, The Teacher, Master Unbiased Pollster, The Avatar of Tuesday, Chief hype Train Conductor, Uwu Usurper, Pog Wog Warrior, Poggers Patroller, Alpha of the species, Apex protector, Praetor of Positivity, Drybrush Disciple, Sophisticated Savage.
While Malakai isn't suited as a Lord for me (Failure of an Engineer, failure of Slayer), he should come, as he is very much requested.
A LH slot with a very powerful and fun Talent tree.
Having Malakai either lean toward the Engineer, the Outcast or the Slayer Side.
Not an LH.
DLC LL. He's the best character left for Dwarfs. An Engineer who made a Thunderbarge, and invented the coolest thing left. Absolute mad lad.

Burlok is a nobody and shouldn’t be in the game at all. Grimm would basically play like the VCoast. You have a frontline of Steam Golems to blob the enemy. Then a second line of ranged infantry and finally a backline of tons of artillery. It would be fun but still very very very static and basically like You already play the Dwarfs.
Malakai would offer something fresh and new. A very offensive and flexible army with mainly flyers and some Slayers on the Ground.
And then Ungrim is only Slayers and Slayer stuff. Pure infantry.
You see? All these 3 LLs don’t overlap at all and have their own very unique niche.
Grimm Burloksson is one of my favorite models from Warhammer Fantasy, but Burlok is the leader of the engineers guild, has a backstory and TT model. He should be the leader of the faction that he's leading. If you're not familiar with the character or he has an older model (khm khm Azazel), that doesn't mean he's a nobody. And then at the same time insist on another nobody like Malakai.
Imagine Reikland being led by Kurt Helborg or Karaz-a-Karak by Kragg the Grimm. There's no way.
Malakai isn't a nobody. He's the best DLC LL choice.
We've literally got a silent meat mountain in Nakai as a DLC LL. Y'all can't tell me Malakai isn't high up enough to lead.
Yes, I can, because you are comparing apples and oranges.
Nakai is a living legend among the LM, the only remaining Kroxigor from the first spawning.
Meanwhile Malakai is and exile, fired from the Engineers Guild because of his failed experiments and forced to take the Slayer Oath, a Slayer Oath he has no intention of fulfilling, so he is not only a bad engineer but a bad Slayer to lead entire armies of Dawi?
You may like him all you want, but don't pretend he what he is not.

You can’t have either. Adding both Burlok and Grimm is unnecessary bloat. That’s what you have to understand. Burloks mini is ancient and he’s just another melee LL. Spamming characters like this doesn’t add anything.
LLs have to offer something new. A new battle role or a new playstyle or a new Theme.
Burlok wouldn’t add anything to the game. Absolutely nothing.
Malakai isn’t a nobody. He has a model, rules, is part of the Slayer list and most importantly is a fan favourite from the G&F novels.
Like I said, Grimm, Malakai, Bugman. Done.
You say both Grimm and Burlok are redundant but then propose both Grimm and Malakai, when Malakai would be double redundant.
Slayer LL: Ungrim Engineer LL: Grimm
There are other themes way more interesting to explore with the Dwarfs, like the Norse Dwarfs for example.
And sorry to say this, but Malakai is a nobody compared to any Dwarf that got rules and a model, he was artillery crew for a model, being a fan favourite in the books doesn't make you important, he is no G&F.

Burlok stopped going outside of Zhufbar ages ago, this is like asking for any of the Lord's of Decay as a LL, he passed the torch to his son.
That comparison makes no sense, both Kurt and Franz are 8th edition characters that do stuff in in the current era, meanwhile Burlok doesn't even leave Zhufbar, Grimm is the one that actually goes outside and does stuff.

Here, fixed it for you, don't pretend like you speak for anyone but yourself, several polls over the years have shown that Grimm is the one most people want as the next LL.
And the only thing Malakai invented is the Goblin Hewer, not the Thunderbarge.

No. I'm comparing a lore blurb of an awesome LM character to a Dwarf with rules and a model. Both being awesome DLC LL choices.

Vastly less than Malakai. Yet both are fantastic DLC LL picks.

What kind of nonsense is that? Polls have been an important part of statistics since they where invented, extremely useful to gather a groups opinion on specific subjects, in this case interest on certain characters.
Ah yes, because clearly polls don't show the general feeling of this forum towards an idea, not like that is the entire purpose of a poll.
You may not like it, but it is the general opinion of this forum.

White Dwarf Promo: - Josef Bugman + Brewmaster Hero
The issue is that without Malakai, how would you add all the missing Slayer stuff? It doesn’t fit for Grimm who should come with Tech units.
I mean, that second LP is already an engineering LP, it has Thunderbarge and Goblin Hewers. So, you can just have one LP and complete both Slayers and Engineers at once/

Nah. Two LPs.
Give Malakai the Goblin Hewer and Thunderbarge. Number 2 can get the scraps.

Mountaineers, are old lore that is not needed anymore (If needed just renamed a Ranger unit with Grudge Racker with it), on the same hand, Swivel guns are the same, mostly unneeded, and there are more fun/usefull things to get.
I disagree on this. The last thing Dwarfs need is more variants of existing units, (but the lack of original content forced me to add some of those on my list) what they need is more new stuff. Mountaineers have a unique look an could add some new gameplay by being a short ranged gunpowder flankers or whatever CA decides their role would be. The same goes for swivel gun and other stuff.
And when you say they are an old lore, remember that this is a game where CA already added so much stuff from the old lore.

Are you going to ask for the Dwarf Flamethrower too ? Or that's to close to Irondrake ?
Mountaineer were taken out of the lore and replaced by Rangers, ergo: Mountaineer are Rangers
Just give Rangers Grudge rackers and make the Mountaineer a RoR for them.
As for Swivel Guns, they are still in the lore, but they are at the bottom of the list the Dwarf need
Engineering: Thunderbarge (Multiple variant: Cannon, Cannon and Bombs, Flamethrower) Thunderer with Grudge Rackers (Cost practically nothing) Irondrake with Drake Pistol (Cost practically nothing) Steam Drill Miners (2 variant ? With or without Blasting charges, maybe without but Grimm would have an exclusive way to give blasting charges to all miners ?) Juggernaut/Earth Borer Drill (Melee Tank)
Slayer: Doomseeker Goblin Hewer
Additional: Deathroller (Heavy chariot)
If nearly all that is added the Dwarf are already very good for their place
1st Dlc:
Engineering/Slayer: LL: Grimm LH: Malakai GL: Guild Master Engineer and Ranger/Brewer GH: Dragon Slayer or Prospector (Miner Champion) Units Cheap/Filler: Thunderer with Grudge Rackers Irondrake with Drake Pistol Steam Drill Miners
Units expensive: Thunderbarge Doomseeker Deathroller Goblin Hewer
Flc: Daemon Slayer Dragon Slayer Josef Bugman
Now if we get a second dlc, then I would say we should look at the more ancient stuff, would even fit for the 2nd Dlc's most likely theme: Runeworks, and the way of the Ancestors
LL: Kragg the Grim GL: None GH: Vampire Hunter of Gazul (Melee Flaming Great Sword Hero, lend himself to fight alongside Rangers and Miners) Units Cheap/Fillers: Mountaineer (Ranger with Grudge Rackers) ->RoR looking like old mini, or update to Rangers to have possibility to have both heads Shieldbreakers: Infantry -> Nurn's Guard
Units expensive: Rune Golem ->RoR: Silverthumb's Gift (If needed/wanted) Shard Dragon/Mineral Murder Ferret -> Fantasma Steam Golem/Armours (Magic Monster artillery)
Between Irondrakes and Flame cannon, there's no need for flamethrower. If there was, I would have added him already.
Elven rangers were a forgotten unit from a barely known warhammer fantasy game and yet here they are in the game as a very useful tier one melee unit for high elves.
I'll repeat again that what is old lore and what is new is not that important in TW:WH, CA has proven that enough times already.
And that goes double for those who preach and then insist on a gimmick unit like deathroller, not even from a warhammer fantasy universe.
They could just give rangers blunderbusses, but I want a unit with a unique look and mountaineers are just that. There are enough dwarven ranger type units in the game already.
