High Elves (Eataine) campaign regularly crashes during end turn + 'Continue Campaign' bug

I'm a few turns into my Tyrion campaign and the game has frequently crashed during the end turn procedure; at some point while waiting for other factions to complete their turns (after I've ended my turn), the game crashes and closes immediately.

Plus:
When I return to WH3 after one of these crashes, the 'Continue Campaign' Lord image shows Katerina instead of Tyrion (I don't have any Katerina campaigns going). The tooltip when highlighting her shows an Empire logo with 'dy_filename' as the title and other generic script. See image attached.

Clicking on this 'Continue Campaign' produces a loading screen which then returns me to the main menu. In other words, I have to load campaign to return to my High Elves game. The end turn usually works after this crash, until it happens again a few turns later.
