WH3 Black Screen on start-up

First got this just after it came out and everything ran absolutely perfectly, there was some frame drops but that's down to my old laptop.
uninstalled it after a month or so.
#Re-installed it the other day and: the game loads, the sounds work, the cursor appears but I have a completely black screen.
I've verified the game files, no success.
Uninstalled and reinstalled, no success.
Please help a guy out here people
