The current AI as of 2.3.0 is way too eager to attack you specifically, especially factions that are surrounded by enemies that are way easier and better targets for them. It is so ridiculous to the point enemy AI will ignore defending themselves against other threats just to annoy you and kill themselves because of it.
I was playing a Karaz-a-Karak campaign and Queek and Wurrzag threw multiple full 20 stacks at me constantly, until Khalida took out all of Queek's settlements and Malagor killed basically all of Wurrzag's settlements. This same thing happens with Kairos, as Teclis throws all his armies at you, completely ignoring TiqTaqTo as his lands burn under lizardman raids. It's really boring and teeth-grating to have the only strategy in this game boiled down to "defend your territory until the AI eventually ignores their settlements long enough for someone else to kill them, then take a couple remaining settlements, repeat" ad infinitum. It also makes starts like Kugath and Kairos almost impossible, as their horrible economy plus the number of enemies bum-rushing them with abandon make defending your territory almost impossible.
There needs to be some weight to the AI doing the bare minimum defending their territory.
The AI seems to have no regard for its current predicament and only exists to throw armies at the player even if it means they will be destroyed by surrounding enemies. Factions significantly weaker than you will declare war on the player just because the player has little to no active wars. This is all well documented and CA surely knows their AI is lacking in decision making on the campaign map and in battles (significantly worse AI than WHII). Its just a matter if they plan to fix it and when.

The AI's war declarations are hilarious.
In my latest game I was the #1 faction and had built an ordertide which encompassed all but two of the top 10 by power.
The weakest faction on the map declared war on me, and all of my allies, with one settlement and no armies.
