So there is an exploit where cheaters can see what units is the enemy choosing in the lobby + debug camera for ranked multiplayer... Totally not used in official tournaments... I am quite sure that there is a map hack where the cheater can see enemy' s units on radar and without fog of war.

    The debug camera has always been used in MP. It's easy to set up and I don't get why isn't isn't just a setting.

    For the rest an actual description would be helpful.

    Your last battle replay is always saved as autosave and would probably be helpful here.

    I don't have any specific replay but another problem is that when you watch replay you don't see the names of the players. So even if you had the replay you couldn't prove who the cheater is. The exploit was reported by the modder called Klissan.

    I am not even sure if there is really an exploit. It wouldn't be the first annoying MP bug, but it could also just be someone being slate for loosing.

    If that was reported linking this would be helpful for this discussion.

    So the guy made a "mod" called MP Tournament "Helper". This is what he stated:

    The mod is a demo of what functionality might be enabled in mp lobbies by only one player w/o letting the other one know. Fully supported and endorsed by CA - I don't read game memory or sniff traffic. All functinality is provided and supported by CA. The same thing with 'debug' camera available for MP

    Why did I release it?
    * One of the devs was notified about such possibility on 25th October
    * After no response I asked one of the Content Partners to report this privately to the devs on 28th October
    * No fixes yet

    I made a post on Turin's server where alarmed the community about possible cheating in the tournaments but the post was removed and I was banned for 'cheat sharing'. Looks like moderators didn't like the idea of sharing knowledge of vulnerabilities publicly and openly and prefer if I shared it with them privately so they can exploit it

    To enable it you have to convert to 'movie' type using RPFM and placed it to the /data folder

    Features:
    * No unit caps even if they are toggled on
    * Spells' vfx effect are more noticeable (also works in quick battles - as a separate mod)
    * you now see your opponent's resources in battle.
    * Drag&Drop reinforcement panel
    * You can now browse the opponents' army builds in the lobby

    So do I get that right?

    Someone was worried about an exploit, warned people about it and then decided to make a mod to make it easier?

    I don't wonder why he got banned in turins discord.

    Also pretty sure mods are disabled in MP. File edits are not, but this sounds like both so not sure how that works.

    No matter how you feel about it, it will be funny to see the loss of "skill" of some professional players if CA ever fixes it.

    The MP scene is rather small. Like 50 people competing and mostly for years. So I highly doubt there will be much change.

    Also again the guy warns about it by making a mod? That seems fishy as hell.

    Only a single player biased person could make such a statement. Why are you discrediting hundreds to thousands of players with 50 to several thousand games on QB? What qualifies as "being part of the MP Scene" ?

    Do the same with campaign players and you are not making yourself friends. Like only 20 Campaigns a year qualify yourself as part of the SP scene? Some people have a life.

    And the mod-bug is being commonly aknowledged by most MP streamers inkl. Turin and Human boy Yes Yes. Some of these sources hate drama and don't make such successions lightly. But as long as you just deny it because you have not personally been persuaded of a bug all is fine? OK

    Maybe the message was more towards CA who can simply investigate.

    The multiplayer scene is so small that 30% of players have "win a multiplayer battle" achievement. The only way for it to thrive is to meet the bare minimum standards of RTS multiplayer ladder/leveling/clan/ranking system, as in Warcraft 3.

    Which ever suit makes these idiotic decisions need to be fired . This out right negligence on behalf of all stake holders not just poor mp players who are quote literally the public faces of the game as they are the ones you see in youtube .

    Yes that includes saga as well they should look in to it.

    Its like their is active process of destroying the games player base and subsequently the sales

    The cheat can circumvent unit caps too. Do we really want a return to the dark days of Warhammer 1 MP with all steam tank, pegasus paladin, or skirmish cavalry armies? Just imagine the Hellstrider spam. Oh wait, you're bringing mostly infantry. Let me swap those ten Hellstriders to Hellstriders with Hellscourges. Please CA.

    And it's not only about the roster but better visibility of missiles and magic as well. Stuff that can be crucial for mutliplayer battles.
