I think the first one is fine, I imagine he’s explaining to someone that WH3 resources isn’t affected by a totally different game. He also keeps it upbeat.
The second one however, causes a negative to come from what should be a positive, it comes across as overly defensive and pretty irritating.
Also the fact that they're still deciding what they can and can't say in the roadmap isn't exactly reassuring. If CA wants to prove us wrong then they'll have to seriously wake the **** up.
Still nice to hear Hyenas isn't gonna be a resource suck for TW.
To be fair, just because he said it, doesn't mean its the case. What else is he supposed to say? "Yea you guys are right, the money you spend on TWWH DLCs is going into Hyenas" Its the same Developer, sure maybe different teams, but the money comes from the very exact same source nonetheless. And that source isn't infinite. And Hyenas isn't making any money for now (and probably never will, thats another story) so yea, you guess where said money is coming from to fund the development of an entirely new Genre for them.
One thing I have to ask me all the time. They had two months + to think about when they gonna release the roadmap and they are still not ready to tell when or what?
The only thing I find a little calming ist that they have indeed multiple resources.
So if they are talking about the 17th February anniversary maybe there is our roadmap day.

The money we spend is indeed going into hyenas. There is no doubt. So they have to focus on warhammer 3 too, to get money for their projects. They have other projects too like another total war title, etc.
My word CA, your team has had months of 'time and space' to decide what to announce and how, commit to something already guys. You won't get crucified if things move back because of delays along the way, so long as you get used to actually talking about it. You owe us some actual information about what you're planning to do with this product a lot of people have bought and you've promised to support and expand. There is no patience left because frankly you've exhausted it.

Hmm I had to google “Hyenas” so it seems like a multiplayer shooter where you hunt for Sega memorabilia aka just a game to advertise Sega.

If they don’t know when the project/dlc is ready don’t say anything. I wouldn’t mind if I got a roadmap in December announcing what to expect the next 6 months. A roadmap can be vague too.
What I would do is tell them what is sure and what they can expect. And If I think the dlc3 is ready in august but I don’t know if it is I will tell them october or Q4. If it comes earlier I bet nobody would be disappointed.

That is how things have always worked, the revenue from previous and current games fund the development of new projects. Either that or CA has to secure funds through loans or the SEGA cash pool, both of which have to be paid back. CA is never going to reinvest the entire surplus revenue back into a game. Rome 2 and Attila paid for Warhammer 1, Warhammer 1 & 2 helped pay for 3K and 3K allowed CA to expand the budget for Warhammer 3.
The user formerly known as KN_Gars, thanks for the involunatry rename CA.
How could they possibly not even know what to say in a roadmap originally planned for last freaking year?
How hard is it to organise a meeting with 'yes you can talk about that and no you can't talk about this'.
Very.

It is a bit concerning that with how much trouble they seem to be having talking about what is coming, as that implies that what actually is coming is probably far off.
"We know you guys are tired of waiting for news, but please wait a bit longer while we decide how long you have to keep waiting. Thanks for understanding".
On one hand, at least there’s confirmation that there is actually news this month and not “around February” ie March.
On the other hand, this could have been communicated a lot more clearly and more tactfully. It did not have to be a response to a Reddit post, and could have easily been done as a standalone post with a simple, “Hey everyone, we’re wrapping things up and are excited to share some exciting news with you later this month!”
What I personally understand from this is that the code is so messy that after months they haven't figured out how to fix it. Am I wrong?
There's nothing to read into it, like whatsoever. They're still working and instead of just saying hey we're not done yet, they decided to write a paragraph that means literally nothing. They aren't allowed to say anything yet so they give a non statement.

1 · Disagree 1AgreeI’m not sure if celebrating still working on the game to a “solid foundation” status is something you want to point out.
It’s just not the travel distance you think it is.
