Hello, I've been working for awhile on a Total War-like real time formation tactics game, but that is a bit slower paced and involves more wargaming rules like anarchy charges, priority shooting targets, uncontrollable, pursuits/evades, delayed commands with couriers, line shifting w/ modes like pushback/fallback/guard, cohesion/morale levels, etc...I have an early build up on itch.io.
itch.io link:
https://gabe1010.itch.io/formation-tactics-game-prototype-battle*scroll down to find the most recent build in the downloads section (build26 at time of wiring), as I keep some of the older builds up as well.
I thought I would post a build here to gauge interest and get some feedback. Let me know what you think and any feedback on design or bugs etc...I'm a programmer, not an artist, so the models are publicly available assets. In particular, let me know what you think of the base mechanics, controllability (only idle and moving units can be controlled, units in combat, pursuing and so on cannot be), couriers and such. The idea is to enable more historical wargaming tactics but with the spectacle and perspective of Total War.
Here's an older video of gameplay, it's improved a bit since then, including unit selection and two factions now:
