TLDR: Game uses too much VRAM, causing crashes. Unlimited Video Memory option does nothing. Reducing texture quality to High lets me play for a couple of hours until it starts crashing again. Restarting the computer seems to fix the issue for some time, and using mods makes it even worse.
Hello, since Immortal Empires Beta release I am experiencing crashes. Recently, I discovered they're caused by the game using too much video memory, with a leak, and the Unlimited Video Memory option doing nothing.
I have a 8gb VRAM card, which, according to most performance reviews for Total War Warhammer 3, should be enough to play on Ultra quality textures. Even the game defaults to the High preset, which boasts texture quality on Ultra.
However, when loading a campaign with textures on Ultra: most times the game crashes; sometimes it loads, but graphics are reduced because of "lack of memory", and activating the Unlimited Video Memory Option does nothing; and other times it loads, but the usage of memory stays around 8100mb, surpassing my card's quantity, which Total War: Warhammer 3 says is 8070mb or so.
Reducing texture quality to High lets me play the game normally for hours, with VRAM usage bouncing from 6100mb to 6700mb. Eventually, however, the game crashes, and any other attempt to load the campaign either results in a crash at the loading screen or a couple seconds after the game loads.
I have found out that, from this point, the only way I can play is by reducing texture quality to medium or restarting my PC, which seems to imply a memory leak.
Using mods also seems to use more visual memory, making the issue more apparent. I have measured the VRAM usage using MSI Afterburner. I never had this issues with over a thousand hours played in Total War: Warhammer 2.
My PC specifications: Motherboard Gigabyte Z370M Aorus gaming, CPU Intel I7 8700K, Two RAM sticks Kingston Hyper Fury 8GB (16 GB RAM), HD Seagate 2TB, SSD M.2 Crucial 275GB, SSD WD_Black SN750 (where the game is installed), GPU Galax GTX 1070 TI, Power supply Corsair HX850 850W 80+ Platinum, Watercooler Corsair H45 Hydro Series.

Thanks for reaching out, I will ask that we can have a look at your DxDiag and Mod.log first and with the crashes you experience, if you could provide save.files and mini.dmps, then we can investigate what's causing them.
You can find out how to upload these here
First I would suggest to remove all mods thoroughly and verify your files through steam.
You can do this by going to the 'Library' section, right-click on the game and select 'Properties' from the menu. - Select the 'Local Files' tab and click the 'Verify Integrity of Game Files' button. - Steam will verify the game's files - this process may take several minutes.
This usually helps a lot of users experiencing the same issues but if not, please don't hesitate to reach out again with some of those files so we can further investigate.
Thank you for your patience

I removed or disabled all applications which were using VRAM and then the game worked fine, mods and Ultra textures. The next day, the issue returned, and it is apparent that: either the game is trying to use VRAM way above the 8gb recommended, or it is not recognizing that it could use more. The Unlimited Video Memory Option does nothing, as stated before.
I have attached some screenshots, showing how much the game is using with mods enabled (which seems to cause it to use more VRAM) and where it is not using available memory at all, reducing graphics.
Without running mods, the game appears to use less VRAM, but even if mods raise the VRAM necessary to run the game, shouldn't the Unlimited Video Memory option prevent it from lowering graphics or crashing?
Here are some things I tried these last few months:
* Verifying the game’s files, multiple times;
* Reinstalling the game;
* Reinstalling all mods;
* Updating the GPU’s drivers;
* Deleting saved characters files;
* Deleting the entirety of the “Warhammer 3” folder in “The Creative Assembly” folder in %appdata%;
* Making the anti-virus ignore the game’s files;
* Turning off all antivirus;
* Underpowering my GPU;
* Turning off steam overlay;
* Run the game and/or the mod manager as admin;
The Beastmen save is the one running mods. The Reikland one is clean. The
