Artillery Reinforcments

I play the Steam Version and can't reinforce Artillery.. if I put Artillery into the reinforcements pile, they just vanish for the fight (i.e.: if i have 7 units in the reinforcements pile [eg 2 artillery 5 inf ] in combat it will show me only 5 Reinforcement Units). Anybody else encounter this?
