User Info RequiredGame freeze when selecting units/general hire button

Hi,
since the last update, my game freezes when i try to select the hire general/unit button.
My Laptop is always up to date with the latest drivers (i use driver genius) and i have both verified the game and reinstalled it.
This is the first time this happens to me, so the freeze has definitely something to do with the update.
I have played the Total war series since Shogun, and never had any issues until now.
I have looked for solutions, but obviously, no one encounters this problem out there?!

Hi again,
Thanks for getting back to me.
My build is v2.4.0
19051.2806817
No Mods installed, driverstatus - see dxdiag (they are all up to date).
Gamefiles verified - not working.
Game reinstalled - still game freeze.
