I wonder how/why they landed on Harry as the LH?

Surely they have a plan. But what?

He's basically the first breakout character in Warhammer, and the game is celebrating its 40th Anniversary, that's why.

With this being the 40th anniversary, my guess is they wanted an older character. Considering Hammerstorm was one of the first characters of the setting, and was the original warhammer wielding character the setting was named after, probably seemed a good fit.

A character of such history and reverence........let's **** on him and disrespect him by demoting him into a LH so he can be your level one chaos lord's **** running around the campaign map to do agent actions!

He was an exalted hero and legendary champion, not a chaos lord. He didn't lead armies or unite chaos tribes; he was a wandering champion with a particular vendetta against the undead, and a hammer with the power to send their spirits to the realm of Morr. He often had followers, but not because he sought them out or fought his way to the top of a tribe/army.

He actually fits better as a hero than he would have as a lord.

Problem is, Snikitch and Ghorst both also "would be better as a hero" and yet both campaigns are a lot of fun.

Doesn't mean that's going to work with every character and at this point it's worth also pointing out that CA has demoted a character from lord to hero.

I'm guessing they just wanted a WoC LH, so their choices were pretty much Mordrek or Harry.

Would have preferred a LH for any other race, WoC is already packed full of content and doesn't need it as much as any other race in the game.

    He has cool abilities though.

Karanak will come, I'm sure of it, and before the announcement I was looking forward to the big dog, but I have to admit I like the tribute to oldhammer and look forward to using him.

Tbf Karanak makes sense to come alongside the Arbaal DLC. They aren’t connected Lorewise but Arbaal rides a Flesh Hound, so it fits thematically.

Yeah Arbaal is the obvious choice for one of Khornes 2 DLCs.

    DLC 1:
    - Arbaal
    - Karanak LH
    - New Khorne Lord/Hero
    - Slaughterbrute (also available for WoC)
    - Khorngors (also available for BM)
    - Blood Chariots

    DLC 2:
    - Skarr Bloodwrath
    - Scyla Anfingrimm LH
    - New Khorne Lord/Hero
    - Wrathmongers
    - Skullreapers
    - Blood Beast (exalted Chaos Spawn SEM)

If we're honest he's a craven who never was only undefeated because when his army was losing he ran like a scolded dog.

    Skarr, now that's a badass.

Ghorst lead the armies in the sigmsrs blood supplement, and that dlc was just that supplement.

Snikitch is the only representation of eshin, and they wanted to represent all the clans

The guy who needs to be saved constantly ? He makes no sense at all, and breaks all the previous lore about Khorne. What happens with “no matter from where the blood flows”? Where is the famous honour of Khorne? As a Khorne fan since I was 10, I can’t understand this character. He should be a Tzeentch lord.

What happens with “no matter from where the blood flows”?

That includes Skarr's. He brings him back so he can bleed even more.

Really though, it probably has to do with, like, overall blood rate. If Skarr has a KDR of, like, 1000:1, then it's just a good idea to keep bringing him back.

-My favourite would have been the three-headed good boi, but I guess he will come with the Khorne DLC.

-Bragg The Gutsman would have made sense but would not have been enough incentive to play Ogres right now.

So Harry really is a good choice. I wonder how much MP meta thought ws going into his Skills.
In campaign, it's hard to rout enemies due to AI buffs.
But in Domination it must be hilarious to rout massive stacks of Zombies off the Objectives instead
    of grinding them down

Pretty much this. It’s no effort for Khorne to bring back Skarr. And considering that his blood ratio is incredibly high, it’s probably a good deal for Khorne. Khornes a Businessman after all and as long as the numbers are fine he’s happy. Skarr simply is a good investment.

Skarr is the opposite of Arbaal kinda… Arbaal is all about finding worthy opponents to fight in single combat. When he loses then it’s because he failed.

Skarr is all about killing masses of enemies. He’s basically a living Lawn mower.

Same reason I can see Vandred being the LH in Dechala's pack. Snake-bod solidarity.

    Yap pretty much.

But Vandred entirely depends on the DLC for me. If it’s indeed Slaanesh, HE, DE as most people expect, then the 2 LHs should be for DE and HE.

I don't see it. The monogods are the headliners of these upcoming packs. And I imagine CA will want to keep parity between the 4 monogods. Since we know Tzeentch is getting a LH in it's pack, I'm expecting all 4 of them will.

    They could've added Slambo instead...

Slambo is much worse than Harald.

Harry’s most recent model was released for the 30th anniversary of WFB. Makes sense to release a digital Harry for the 40th.

I think it’s a safe assumption that in the short-term all of the FLC LHs will be available to races that people who only own WH3 have access to.

All WH3 players have access to Harry through Be’lakor, Ulrika through Kislev, and soon a Tzeentch LH.

It would also be annoying pattern break for only some of the Monogods to get an LH and not others.
