Good day folks! We’d here to share an update about the Total War forums and the shift to a new platform before the end of this year.
We’ve been working with colleagues from our sister studio, Amplitude, to setup a new community discussion space on their in-house forum platform:
Games2Gether (G2G). This offers a variety of new tools which will allow us to improve how we share information and intake feedback from new players: including a community newsfeed, a dedicated help center, and spaces where people will be able to submit feedback and ideas.
As we prepare for the launch of v1 next month, we’re announcing the transition now so you can grab any posts or text you need before these boards are archived on October 11. Here’s the current timeline of changes:
- You can continue to post here (on the current forum) until the final week of September.
- Before the end of September, we will launch the new Total War Games2Gether forum at a new web address (shared at that time).
- Shortly thereafter—likely on the same day—these forums will be switched to read only so you can continue to collect any of your old posts.
We're aiming to make this a seamless transition, ensuring you can move straight to the new platform when the current forum is locked. Then, on (or around)
October 11, the current forum will be archived—completing the move and pointing the existing link to the new G2G forum.
The Total War forums have been an important space for conversation over the years: for the Total War community to provide feedback, help each other learn and play the games, and report issues; and for CA, who use the platform to collect information and identify issues that guide the changes and decisions we make for our games. We’d like to thank our AMAZING moderators who have helped keep it a safe and constructive space to discuss the game, and to everyone who’ve contributed to the space over the years. We also can’t wait to invite in new players to join the community conversation, and to continue evolving the platforms where our community can come together to share in the love of the game.
If you’d like to see the G2G forums in action, you can visit the official
Amplitude or
Company of Heroes forums to see them in full working action! And, if you’d like to ensure that you have your forum account ready to go, be sure to sign up for a
CA Account now—which will serve as your login and forum name in the new space.
[For information about how we will process your personal data on the G2G forum, please refer to our Privacy Policy.]That’s it! You’ve got plenty of time to gather any posts or information you need, but be sure to collect any posts you want to preserve before October 11 when the current forums close down.
[Note that we’re sharing these dates with the understanding that they may shift, though we’ll keep people updated via edits to this post in the event that our timelines change.] Thanks, and we’ll be back with more soon!

0 · Disagree Agree"Start a communication with the upset community" - nope
"Adress the issues that are blatantly obvious such as lackluster patch cycles" - nope
"Increase quality and quantity in the current massively overpriced dlc" - nope
"Close down the forum and move to an even less populated forum space with the lead example being the other insanely unfinished Sega game that is about to kill a highly beloved franchise (company of heroes)" - yes absolutely

3 · Disagree 3AgreeNever "got" into the G2G stuff, if it actually effectively allows more tangible options that will be used longterm then fine.
If it's just to get something new/shiny/modern well, my voice won't change anything to it but it's a bad move.

Wondering why you get some traits on your characters this may give you a vague idea

0 · 1Disagree AgreeSo on the WIP agenda were Kemmler, Neferata, W'soran, wrapping up the last Dogs of War RoR, Grombrindal, Gotrek&Felix, and a few Champions of Chaos left. Some drafts are already begun, for some the research is still ongioing. But there is no point to now hastingly try and finishing stuff up before the September close down.
Well, I might speeding up Malus Darkblades third WHM book, but guess I will not aim for the fourth book there too. Shame.

*It appears there are no dislikes, or at least they don't show if you aren't logged-in. You can only get likes** and those are always displayed, alongside badges you collected.
**LIkes and other actions add G2G points:
You can unlock avatars and titles. And some other weirdness.
It's like a minigame breeding ground for consumerism.

1 · Disagree 1AgreeAre you seriously not going to support top contributors to port their posts?
This forum has become an encyclopedia not only of total war but to warhammer universe thanks to contributors like Red Dox.
Would not be possible to save this knowledge with your support? At least could you facilitate them not turning off the forum till everything is ported?
It would be appreciated of you show some interest in what is written here instead of just saying: "if you want to keep it save it before we delete it"
