I agree the game is not as good as it could or should be but compared to what? COD, angry birds, pacman.
If you don't want simpler dumbed down games with no ambition or risk then give CA sometime to patch the game before you sentence it to death.
Sir Robin the Not-Quite-So-Brave-As-Sir-Lancelot,
who had nearly fought the Dragon of Angnor,
who nearly stood up to the vicious Chicken of Bristol,
and who had personally wet himself at the Battle of Badon Hill.
Compared to Shogun 2 ,well even CA must be disappointed but more importantly they are actively trying to address the problems on a level I have not seen from a developer in a long time.
I paid £25 pounds and have played for over 40 hours cant say I feel short changed even in its current state.

Joes review is all about attention and little to do with reviewing but like I stated at the start it was entertaining and had many points I agree with.

The only thing which worried me about it was he was ranting about all the glitches which a rare few people with ****** pcs are having and saying even though he hadn't seen them himself.
Its a bit bizarre, its like saying you hate a restaurant caus your friend had a dodgy meal there even though your meal was passable.
Its not a perfect game, but most of the stuff early in the video is the 2%.
Unfortunately with pc games you have loads of people with different hardware so of course you will get glitches on some systems.
It was funny though but I only watched about the first 10 mins or so. Entertaining if not entirely accurate.

So what exactly do you want to contribute with your thread?
Most of positive reviews of ROme 2 are of graphis and how good they are.
anothers simple lie like some guys that didnt play the game and they give 90
"Armed with a new engine, Rome II looks great, plays smoothly, and will be a challenge to both veterans and novices. "
There are true reviws that they really take time to play game and then review:
Quarter to Three

I am astonished at the state of this game. Did they think that I wouldn’t notice the clumsy interface, the wretched documentation, the absolutely untenable naval combat, the weird bugs, the lock-ups, the game-killing glitches? Did they think I wouldn’t notice the AI? Did they really think this was an acceptable AI for a single-player game? A single player game with disappointing multiplayer compared to the clever multiplayer in their last release?
other thing to see is that most of magazine positive reviews are of graphis. (at this part you can know with magazine lie if they said that AI moves great or is awsome they simple didnt play the game when thay make the review)
Well I like to think I contribute different perspective, one of someone who loves the total war series both the highs and the lows, who has experienced bugs/performance/balance issues with Rome 2. (if I had to give it a score in its the current state 7.5/10)
With its ambition and size I chose to be more forgiving and grateful there's a developer making games like this.

And why "Fungal"? I mean there are players outside (like me) who can't play the game at all because it feels like playing a chess game which allows me only to play against Level 3 AI opponents (out of 10). And no higher ELO player would touch it.
Do you know there are different players around and players play for a challenge the game is as unplayable as for players with massive technical problems.
For me its 1/10 because of this. There is no in-between.
So of course I want it fixed and of course Joe contributes to it and of course the are different opinions. If you're fine with rome... good! Just respect others may not.
Others have been far less respectful if my opinions don't match there own ("game is the worst thing ever" for example), I have tried to be very respectful apart from a "saggy scrotom" comment I feel I have been successful.
As for Fungal joe tittle, was a little play on words and was meant in jest, he's a big boy am sure he would laugh it off.

I actually agreed with his whole review. Yes, some of us are easy to satisfy, but most of us are not, and have been hugely let down by this release.
If you disagree, just try a Rome vs Gaul battle and march your testudos into enemy slingers. You should take no damage and proceed to destroy their units (unless they flee first), but this does not happen.
At no point did I state I was satisfied with the game.
Some of the negative comments are from players that would have never been content regardless of the release condition of Rome 2.
Are CA more likely to keep working on Rome 2 real issues or is there a danger of being swamped by "they gone ****** it up" crowd, who seem to be trying to out do each other with as much negative feed back they can find.
When the damage is done it will be the true Total war fans left with no series to play.

AVG pc tuneup is also a great little program also, this ones not free (does have a free trial)but would also recommend to insure your pc is in a healthy condition.
