    Rome II: Totally Casual.

Streamlined features, missing content from previous releases, zero diplomacy, no family tree, lack of character progression, magical transports, complete lack of battle, siege and campaign AI, blob style fighting formations, no guard or loose formations, 3minute battles, magical fire burning torches, zero seasons, magical unit replenishment, 1 turn per year, monotonous and incredibly tedious campaign,

Erm... a little two-dimensional poll. I'd prefer an option "keep it for small wooden gates, make it useless against larger ones".

Yes. Illogical and makes the BAI dumber than a sack of bricks.

Although, come to think of it, breaking down gates with a sack of bricks would make more sense than burning it down with torches.

did anyone find that the enemy would leave the gates just long enough so the gates would open and couldn't be burned down?

    It's a depressingly regular occurrence.

Not just iron gates, remove the mechanic entirely. Its completely unrealistic, and more importantly isn't fun.

Why is this poll so biased?

Yes and now should be at the same level, not yes above no.

Now everyone is going to vote yes like you want them to.

"Poll" and "bias" go hand in hand. Are you asking people to not give their opinion? Are you trying to make polls mean nothing? Just curious. Unless you're just trolling us. In that case... well done sir.

yes, because whats the point of using siege engines when you can just burn down the gate?

I'm fairly sure that if half of the people who actually mean "no" misclick, the results would still be an overwhelming "yes" in reality.

    Half-skipped that. :o

Really, the question speaks for itself...

This is one of the most ridiculous features in the game together with the flags and the magical abilities. One does not simply burn the gates.

Something else I'd like gone, when a gate burns down it shouldn't explode up through the stone over it and kill everyone there. I don't even put people there anymore, because I know my gate is going to be gone in 4 seconds.

Listen! If they don't burn down the gates how are they ever going to get in the castle? Do you expect them to knock on the gates? That's totally unhistorical. Barbarians never knocked on doors.

Yes to metal gates, but no to wooden ones or gates just clad in metal. Wood does burn you know; hard to believe yeah!

I would get rid of burning arrows from cav' though; that's a bit silly.
You dun started fixing it up.

It should work for tier 1 wooden stuff, if it's not raining.

Large logs would not burn such that humans could break the gate open, never mind it fly open on its own.
The outside of the logs would char, and act as an insulator keeping heat out.

Have you ever watched someone walk on coal? Same principle.

Now if you had oil or something, then maybe. But I am still doubtful that it would burn enough for the gate to collapse.
And if they packed mud onto the wood, then it would be near impossible to set it on fire.
