Are female elven dreadlords lore friendly?

According to what I have seen from the gameplay videos, dark elves female lords were portrayed as melee specialists.
Is it a lore thing?

Yes it is, both lords and ladies fight in the Delf army. In fact, I always got the impression that the Delfs were more open to females in the army than the Helfs. I have seen several references to Delf females in the spears and crossbow regiments for example, but very few of female helfs in the militia.

And that is because all of the Dark Elves are fighters. You would be very hard pressed to find one Dark Elf who is a baker, smith, musician, or anything that doesn't relate directly to fighting. That's why they have to take so many slaves, because they don't build, they don't lumber, they don't mine. Those things are beneath them, and why they have their beastmasters force their slaves into doing everything that isn't worthy of the 'true' Elves.

Wish there was more gender disparity through the ranks of the Druchii though, same with Wood Elves, but oh well, I guess.

Lorewise, Dark Elves are a meritocracy, and anyone capable of being a lord/ruling over a Dark Elf city is allowed to do so.

As a result, there are both male and female dreadlords, and they each use whatever weapons they are personally the most skilled with.

This means CA could have used picked any combination of gender/weapon for the Dark Elves and it would have been lore friendly. They likely chose to make the males ranged/females melee just to continue with the 'reverse image of the High Elf theme' that they decided to go with.

With the High Elves and Dark Elves being mirrors of each other in CA's vision...one race was going to have a female melee lord and the other was not. It was probably a coin flip which was going to be which.

    Another "feminist ar bad" post,

shame on you, you really need to learn about this subjet fkn ignorant.

Feminist is about to "achieve political, economic, personal, and social rights for women" (...) "establish educational and professional opportunities for women that are equal to such opportunities for men"

not "to put a woman here/there" and "destroy your fragil masculinity"

Wtf is this piece of **** blabbing about?
You are the one who should learn how radical feminists actually claim that game industries should put woman here and there because they must be same as man.
    You bitch

Yeah, this thread needs to be shut down.

MOST people were trying to give a reasonable response to your slightly inflammatory OP.

But the only person you respond to is one of the political responses....and you do so with a political response yourself.

The only explanation I can come up with was that you WANTED to have a political argument instead of a gameplay/lore discussion.....please take it somewhere else.

It's not a Feminist thing. Melee Female Dreadlords are perfectly Lore friendly. The elves are not, and have never been, as Sexually Dimorphic as humans are in Warhammer Lore. There have always been female's as well as males in positions of Power among the elves. And both genders of elves are physically equal, unlike humans. A female Elf that trains for melee combat will be just as good as a male one. This is explicitly stated in the Elves Lore. And Due to this, it is perfectly reasonable for the Melee dreadlord to be either male or female. It is simply that the DE got what you could call the short stick. The HE melee lord is male, the DE, being their opposite, have a Female Melee lord. Thematically fitting, if not what a lot of people were expecting.

The only reason we don't have both genders for both Lord types, is because it's not worth time or effort it takes to implement. The Female and Male models seem to use different Skeletons and Animations from each other, and making a second set of both, simply for an increase in gender diversity, is not worth it. This is a two way street though, just as it's not worth making a Female version of a male unit, it's not worth making a male version of a female unit.

The final result is what we have now. The Melee dreadlords are all female. There is nothing wrong with that, thematically or lore wise. It is simply what CA have chosen to implement. And I'll say it again, it has nothing to do with feminism.

oh boy, the opening post has been changed and now I look like a fool.
"Chaos strong. Gors strong. Humans, Elves, Dwarf — weak. We win. We fight, we kill, one day we win. One day soon. You — if you lucky, we eat you, make you into part of us, make you better than you, stronger than any of you, stronger than all of you. Once this arm weak, like you. I eat many of your kind, now I strong."

Do no confuse "people complaining in twitter/tumbler/whatever" with "feminism", please.
I am 100percent confident that I am not confused with twitter or whatever blabbers from active feminists, who keeps trying to ruin games with gender equality bull ****

Wether if it was lore friendly was what I was actually curious of.
