I like their current style. They only communicate when they have something with to actually say.

    ...to Reddit.
Reddit has the bigger audience and is the superior platform. Why would they preference the minority audience?
Äh...because it is their own Forum? Also it doesn‘t have to be ‚preferred‘ but maybe equally?

WH 3 looks like it might be released around 3.5 years after game 2

Well, it's not like they spent all that time working on it.

Yes, it is, they may admittedly have had less people on it than the full team at points (especially during the period 3K was delayed), but it is rather ridiculous to think there was nothing going on there for the first year - year and a half, especially when we had updates to stuff about MoCap in that period. It is a bit tinfoil-hat, unless of course there is some evidence for that statement, but I doubt it.

At this point I just want a roadmap for the next couple of months, some info about WH3 and the number of remaining WH2 DLCs.

Just want to know their long term plan with the game.

They don’t even need to tell us every little detail every few weeks. They only need to release a road map 1-2 times a year to let us know where the journey goes.

Just like they did with 3K...

    They do though....?

Reddit gets more comments from them, but those are shared here, and all the important stuff is shared here too.

It makes sense to pay more attention to the bigger community. And on a per person basis we get far more attention than Reddit.
Game 3 must have variety in its core races. Ogres, Chaos Dwarfs, Kislev, and Demons of Chaos in its full iconic, glorious, undivided glory.

They don’t even need to tell us which exact LLs we would get, just something like:
“Around April we will release a HE vs GS LP with a GS rework, than around late summer we have a Skaven vs Dwarfs LP planned together with a WE rework. After that, towards the end of the year, we will announce the Preorder bonus for WH3 which will come somewhere around 2021. Stay tuned for more detailed information.”

Would that be so difficult? There would till be enough things to speculate about, but we would at least know a little bit what we can expect for the next couple of months.

Knowing at least how many DLCs are coming even if they don't say which races are in it would be great.

Yeah I don't see why giving us an idea of how much milage this game has left is a bad thing, in fact it may be a good thing as eventually it kinda feels like we are never going to get to the last bit and people may tune out. If we have a "we are planning X more LPs (subject to change)", we know where we stand and people who may just want game 3 and are burned out on 2 can say "oh I guess I can check in in X months as game 3 might be announced around then".

That's what they meant when it comes to risk. Now people believe that the news a month after the release, this is a mandatory norm.

They posted that themselves. Pre-production only started around June 2018. Motion capture that you are talking about happened in February 2019 and the article itself saying that the game still was in pre-production by then.

Do you have a source for pre-production beginning in June 2018? I don't remember them saying that, and even accepting that we are at a larger gap than between game 1 and 2 without an announce. I think the MoCap stuff said they were a fair way through it, and there is also the question of how much of the work is "pre-production", and that was a year back now.

Their previous post was in march and it said that
it is dark and quiet in this team’s corner of the studio

so it's safe to assume that they started somewhen in that period.
Anyway, the point is that they weren't invested in TWW3 the whole time since TWW2 release the same way as they were in TWW2 after TWW1 release.

    This comment doesn’t make sense.
CA clearly said what the next 3 DLCs for 3k will look like, so why can they not do the exact same for WH2?
WH2 is still their most played game.

I don’t understand why they are so silent about it...

And again I‘m not crying for communicating every week with us, we just want a vague Road Map for this year.

    - How many DLCs left
    - The current stage of WH3 development

    That’s it.

That is still an estimated 3 years or so at least (give or take) between the start of development and the likely release of game 3 (if it is Q1 2021), even with possible lulls in development from 3K delay and such it is a far greater development time than game 2

I honestly don’t have any problem to wait for a perfect game with a huge map, so CA should take all the time they need to make this game great.

The only thing we would need then is a map expansion further south to have more space for potential DLCs until the release of WH3.

I find it funny that you believe its taking this long because they're "taking their time", and not, say, that staff are stretched over several projects.

This is risky for us as we’ve seen what happens when people get upset over how long we’re taking, or when we need to move a date back because sometimes things take longer to make (or change) than we expect."

    From: https://www.totalwar.com/blog/development-update-blog-02/

What happened to that ? Did CA already gave up on that idea ? Or maybe they forgot about it ?

During H&B CA's communication was on point. The devs were always here to answer our concerns and they were even on this forum. But since S&B CA is back at being silent like they were before. Do we really have to complain about it all the time to remind CA about their own promises ?
And even before H&B they mentionned improvements on the communication but we still haven't seen a result, it's still the same. Leaving us in the dark all the time. And what about the tracker we were supposed to get for their answers on this forum, Reddit or others social network ? Is it even still being worked on ?

what do you think about UI?

    like that -
