*Insert extremely partial pro-Vlad message about how much better he is at being ugly than Mannlet.*

    Nah.

It's more like: There once was a TT Gaming Company that so horribly managed its own franchise, it decided to kill off and character assassinate countless creations, including their bald vampires.

I'm just grateful CA isn't beholden to GW's story beats. Cuz IN GAME, Mannfred is actually quite fun to play.

Vlad had a much, much better arc.

In the first Vampire Wars, he killed millions in his attempt to become Emperor, caring only for his own concerns and that of Isabella's.

In the End Times, he fought on the side of Order against Chaos. He once even defied Nagash's orders to fight for the Empire. He ultimately sacrificed himself and all his ambitions for the woman he loved.

He was a great villain, and in the end an even better hero.

So, in his End Times arc Vlad decided to not be a vampire, instead choosing to be a melodramatic Twilight story protagonist?

Terrible, once again it proves that he is not worthy to be a leader of Von Carsteins Vlad is a terrible ruler and can not decide even where his priorites are - he wanted to rule the Empire for its good, but swarmed it with vampires he barely could control. He tried to play benevolent ruler and tried to stop other Vampires prey on his subjects, but during Vampire Wars he slaughtered all his subjects himself lol.

Witness true power! Mannfred is the one only true Von Carstein! At least he is consistent. Also, he is certainly better at leading actual living humans than Vlad.

Vlad is actually pretty consistent in what he does, even if you include the end times. He always wanted to rule the Empire, and he still does in the end times, it's why he helps protects it. Can't be an undead emperor if there is no Empire. He also always loved Isabella, dying to save her from chaos is very in-character and something he would always have done, long before anyone had planned the end times.

Which is why I think @Otters007 calling Vlad a hero in the End Times is far-fetched. Vlad is still a tyrant, completely disregarding human life. In the end times themselves he often does attacks that kill both imperials and chaos worshippers at the same time, he does nt care about keeping imperial troops alive since he can just raise them as zombies. He also thinks of himself as a sheperd and humans as sheep, he will protect them because they have material value to him, but the end goal is to use them without any regard for the humans' actual freedom or well-being.

And again, saving Isabella is not character development, he always loved her that much.
