blue skies for historical mode

my wife helped me with photoshop to represent what i have in mind for the historical version. I have seen that CA has not considered this option but it is never too late as there is still a month left. personally the result is not bad and would give a lot of diversity to the perceptual level to the historical campaign.
what do you think? is there any modder listening? :#
ps: I got these pictures from this forum

I will say it does look nice, and the the way the clouds appear "painted-on" lends it a certain charm. It reminds of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, actually.

I think I still prefer the bronze-ish hues though, but I wouldn't be opposed to a toggle function between the two, if possible. I could see myself switching back and forth for a change of mood.

well, midnight blue and the stars. this is a simple change to the background, but I'm sure CA would do their job well, they could put for example a "real" sky, and not cartoon :)

Looks pretty neat. Still, if we were really adding alternate skybox for historical mode I think the best option would be to add "realistic" version.

I always though it was orange because of "bronze age" and pottery.

Yes , orange theme is part of artstyle based on pottery from this era

Honestly, I do not see reason to change it

well, to give a touch of diversity to the historical mode, considering that there will be no supernatural elements it makes no sense to stay inside a Greek vase.
however, the art of troy total war is beautiful this is true!

You can change privately for Yourself or in the form of mod,
but There is no reason to change it for historical mode, I prefer original artstyle 😀 which is very well made in my opinion, and creates "immersion"

    It is based on this

Except that this type of pottery is like 500BC and not Mycenean era, granted pottery of that time is not spectacular. But I guess if we come from the angle that it's Homeric storytelling, then that type of pottery makes sense.

What is connection of pottery to historical mode SKY?

We know that historical mode is trying to be grounded as possible as it can be so why based the sky color with pottery?

So what if the pottery is orange?
  • Dalnar1983Dalnar1983 Senior Member Registered Users Posts: 886
The idea is that the orange pottery is actually historical.

Is Orange Sky more appropriate than Blue Sky for historical mode?

Is it right they based the colour of sky for pot?

It's lovely artistic license yes. Completely appropriate that they pick theme based on Homer's time, around 600BC. Because "he" is the popular storyteller of Trojan war, which motives are often depicted on 600BC orange pottery.

It's like picking marble theme for classical greece.

Troy's art is fantastic. I loved it as much as I loved that of Thrones of Britannia.
I just thought that a blue sky made the idea of being in history more than in a heroic poem, I hope some modder can do it in the future

And the future was now, questioner from the past.

And there was a day sky, being blue. o:)

And there was a night sky, having no stars. B)

And The Eternal Flame of Marinos burned that it was good.

If any hero dares to like the above, that day and that night will turn into a downloadable mod.
