I respect Rob Bartholomew's decision to postpone the release of latest installment. It's no easy task to argue against marketing department and higher ups, who want to release the project ASAP. If he prioritizes quality of the product, that effectively means he has our best intersts at heart, and we shoould support him.
lol I bet all gaming publishers and developers utterly despise CDPR for making the consumer base hyper sensitive to delays
Nah. They're thankful for CDPR for providing the the default format for the delay apology announcement that they all use now.
Well, screw CDPR anyway. They basically created a cult around their studio, rallying fans against bad corporate practices and other **** things related to the gaming industry, while still being complicit in doing a lot of those themselves.
I think The main reason of these types of delays is Saga series which keep CA busy. CA could have easily put attention on making a main game per 2 years and support each with a bunch of DLCs instead of making games like Troy. They could have put Saga team on preparing main games for consoles instead. With Saga series, as a result, we see a 2022 release window for a 2016 core game! The God knows when we would see Medieval 3 and Empire 2!!
SAGA teams are differente teams, they work in another country.
I know. They could have been working on main games instead in order not to see delays like this one after 3 years of development!!!!
That is fine. Delays happen. And a good product is more important than a bad product earlier.
But work on your communication. This and other things should be on constant basis. Atleast monthly if not weekly. Your marketing is terrible. But your product is amazing so you can keep having the worst marketing and still do great (ofc you would do even better with proper communication).
That's a good point. Compare this to the stream of communications we've had since Victoria 3 was announced, for example. One game I feel like I'm following the development of, one feels like a product someone wants me to buy. Ultimately they're both the latter, but only one of them do I feel involved in.
"Back in the sweatshop in Ulthuan, we found an Elf, we tossed it right in the soup. Those hungry bastards ate Elf soup every day. What's the worst thing that could happen? Some little snotling chokes on a hairball and dies? So then you toss him in the soup. I was making money hand over foot, literally. Some gobbo lost a hand or a foot, I'd toss it in the soup" - Grom
Not unexpected and hard to be too upset about. I'd rather have a good game than an early game. Way too late in announcing it though. At this point, it comes out when it does. Lots of other games to be more excited for.

Simone already told us whats happening. The executives have decided they can do a better job at marketing than the people they hired specifically for that role.
Request scorched body textures, and fire death effects. At least 30% of all damage in this game comes from fire sources. Request Fire for the Fire God DLC.

Well...It would be nice if they gave an actual reason for the delay. It's been three years since Warhammer 2. Its not like they are building a new game on a new engine. All of the tech is already built out so I'm not sure where I stand on this. Warhammer 3 has got to be very polished with actual big changes and innovative ideas.
If Warhammer 3 runs as poorly as the other two titles I'll be very disappointed. They showed off Laboratory tech a long time ago and still haven't integrated it into the game.

my guess is either Thrones, T3 and Troy ate into resources. Or the WH2 DLC did.

Oh well, I still play wh2 an hour or two at least every day, so won’t be bored waiting.
I do blame every single Kislev complainer for the delay. WH3 was good until people howled for less ice and changed things for Kislev, you have panicked them into redesign. (Just kidding, I think)
They are really just adding more bears for me, thanks ca.
BEARS, Beets, Battlestar Galactica 🧝♀️ Pandas too please CA!
Not surprised. With the rate that they have been releasing info, 1.5 and 2-3 month breaks where we have had pretty much radio silence, I don't think the game is anywhere near as ready as many will have thought, considering CA started selling it in February.
It is disappointing, but eh what can you do. Looking forward to it's release EARLY next year. But please fix WH2 last update stuffed it, balancing is way off, I know your doing something about cavalry, but how in hell with my Norsca campaign can 1 unit of Bretonian peasant Pox archers melee and beat a lvl 5 General, he gets 3-4 kills on charge and then they start kicking his arse, and plus the cav' retreat issue getting stuck in melee!
people forgot that three kingdoms also got delayed twice and it still came out a buggy mess
3K was solid at launch, it's the DLCs that screwed things up afterwards. Troy also released pretty darn pristine and has only gotten better with patches to the point that it barely has any load times anymore and runs buttery smooth in both battles and campaign.
If WH3 releases like Troy there'll be no problems.

3 · 1Disagree 3AgreeLook at how long it took them to fix norsca. They also can’t even have mortal empires in at release.
May/June release means we will be getting the combined map this time next year. That’s ****.
My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined.

1 · Disagree 1AgreeC.A. can better do this, then the game Warhammer 3 releases with lots of bug this year.
Also, the 1st game Total War: Warhammer was in 2016 moved from April to May.
